***Spoiler alert***

Have I missed a thread on this yet? Watched this weeks episode last night - safe to say it is back with a bang!

Can see all the little storylines being planted for the season already.

I thought they tried to make it too obvious that the mixed race lady was the undercover cop and was not at all surprised when it was Stephen Graham, they were trying too hard with that for me.

Was shocked when they slit the Indian coppers throat though, don't kknow what I was expecting but I wasn't expecting it to be that brutal and sudden!

Lots going on, think Graham will be brilliant this series.

Ffs I replied about the programme and then gave a long boring story about meeting Stephen Graham in my local Tesco but the internet dropped

I also thought straight away that Stephen Graham would be the one, biggest star = biggest story, I also agree with the Indian copper slashing.

Good start. I still can't see any other outcome than Adrian Dunbar as H

Delete some of your stars - makes the post unreadable!

I think Hastings as H is too obvious and will be a let down.

Hastings clearly having money problems, Arnott addicted(?) to prescription painkillers - can see there will be lots of twists and turns

Agree about Hasting being too obvious but it may be a double bluff to make us think it is too obvious.

You never know with LOD and thats why I love it. You think you have it worked out and then wham, everything changes in an instant.

All men and women are created, by the, you know the, you know the thing.

Great start, but all that stuff between throat-slashee and her cousin who got sucked into giving out confidential info to settle gambling debts (the phone-box sequence with package being dropped for her etc. particularly) was pretty confusing & hard to follow.

Stretched credibility that she got a prison visiting order for him for him, esp so quickly, but nevertheless, pacy & entertaining as usual from Mercurio & the team.

I’ve never seen LOR but notice quite a lot of chatter about it. Is it a thing?

One of the few things on TV I go out of my way to watch! (The Blue Planet & Dragons' Den series being others).

I think they're currently all on iplayer, if you're tempted to watch don't start with the current one it will ruin it, go back and watch from the start.

From memory Lennie James was in the first series?

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

They do follow on from each other so yes would be recommended.

Although not a bad thing as the previous 4 series are superb.

Yea, good start. I think that the mixed race lady will also be an UCO (As they kept saying in the show), and, she is watching Stephen Graham.

It will help. And you'll get to watch 4 series of great TV. You could probably skip series 1 if you're pushed for time but series 2 and 3 were absolute crackers.

No, they can all stand alone - but it is such a great programme I definitely would.

If you watch a later series then go back some of the outcomes will be obvious so won't be as good

Definitely - absolutely gripping TV and one of the few things I have to watch as close to live as I can.

Series 1-4 are on Netflix

I disagree with Joe on this one as watching the previous series's will make the final one more important with the conclusion.

It's a really good series so you should anyway - although it is a bit far fetched at times.

Two things.

Firstly, if I am a cop, a very, very senior cop I am probably extremely intelligent. If I am then a bent cop and decide to work with criminal gangs, I'm going to want to not get caught. I probably therefore don't call myself or allow myself to be referred to as 'H' if it's the first letter of my name. So this would be a let down, but I didn't expect to find 'the caddy' on a golf course.

Secondly, if 'H' is that obvious it's not Hastings. It's going to be Hargreaves. The copper that works with Steve's ex, the one who interviewed Thandie Newton's husband last time out. He was in it just enough last time to know his name and has already been involved nicely in this one with a few comments made about him by colleagues.

I'm convinced at this point that's where Mercurio is going. It's never going to be Hastings in a million years. There would be a national outrage and none of his behaviour has ever supported it until the deliberate little looks started being included once this 'H' character was known.
