Cheese & Onion? or Salt & Vinegar? 16:03 - Jan 12 with 2944 viewsford6600

Can we finally salt out which of the 'Big 2' flavour crisps is TWTD'ers favourite. Let's assume Walkers crisps rather than get embroiled with Kettle etc.Which is your 'go to' at present? No sitting on the fence 'Ready Salted' or 'complicated' other flavours. Are you a Cheese & Onion or Salt & Vinegar person? A simple choice for some a difficult choice for others...

Of those two, I would say probably cheese and onion over salt and vinegar.

The correct answer though, of course, is Chargrilled Steak flavour.

Cheese & Onion without doubt for me. The 'go to' crisps in pub. Sometimes if bored with COA have been drawn to the 'dark side' and had SAV but invariably regret it as
'burnt' by extreme saltiness...

Salt and vinegar is a flavour which has become more and more of a favourite as I get older.

No contest between those two.

Some pickled eggs of, unknown age, can be a great 'vinegar bomb', and even greater thrown in packet of crisps before consumption to pick up coating of salt...

Of course, people should feel free to pick a distant second to Salt & Vinegar, if they so choose.

Just a very odd thing to do.

Actually, the right answer is old style Walkers Beef and Onion or the current Smoky Bacon.

But to be fair to the OP of S&V and C&O, in a close run race it has to be Salt and Vinegar for me.

Though Walkers have got it wrong, they should come in green bags.

But the question is Walkers based. Keep up!

That means Tayto, Lays, McCoys, all own brands, Pringles, Bugles, Veggie crisps (utterly ghastly anyway), potato sticks, hula hoops (👍🏻), ridged, made from cardboard or toenails. All not the question.

But I’ll let you off and you can have another go 😀

McCoy's Pringles Branigans etc are Premier League crisps we are judging Walkers the plucky Leicester of the crisp world, cheap and cheerful with delusions of grandeur. Softish crisps, not prone to leaving shards impaled in your gum like eg Kettle, Ridged crisps.

But in the grand world order of things, blue always comes above green (and yellow)

Walkers Cheese and Onion have always come in a blue pack and Salt and Vinegar in green pack. Unlike some other brands which have them the other way round. The crisp packets are inflated with Nitrogen to exclude air and keep the crisps fresh. Also helps to prevent crushing by having a slightly pressurized bag. Nitrogen of course gives a satisfying pop when bag squeezed open..
