Old songs to revisit for the final day? 11:01 - Apr 28 with 2436 viewsSteve_M

It always used to be a thing to revisit old songs for the last match (or last home match) of the season so, should the match situation allow in either of the next two games what would you choose to resurrect?

- Stewart Wonderland (the most likely I think)
- Kiwomya My Lord
- Finidi
- Warky should get his song back for a bit too.

The old "Ipswich, Ipswich" on repeat to the Amazing Grace-type tune would do me, though haven't heard it for many years.

Don't you have some articles to write up! Never seen you on so much!

It's almost like we have a big game tomorrow

Haha, I think we're all discovering that it's amazing what can be put on hold when ITFC finally look like doing something ... !

Tony Mowbray's 'arm up, flag up, you're offside'. It'd work with Cameron Burgess.for a modern version, or just keep it original if going retro.

Love that, one of my proudest moments was starting it off at the top of my voice on the Wembley concourse for no reason whatsoever 😀 🤣🤣🤣

There needs to be one absolutely massive rendition of the old school classic 'SIGN HIM UP' when Hirst is replaced by Ladapo on 70 minutes and it can similarly apply to when Luongo is replaced by Ball shortly after.

One of the better (original I believe) attempts which tried to get going and Barnsley but failed was

Because you're George Hirst
I'd do anything for you
Because you're George Hirst
(fizzled out but sounded like something super blue)

As we all know, if it's not a repeat of something every other club sings with our players name added then it's going to fail.

Problem with that one though is it tends to end up too high pitched on the voice front and then disappears.

I think Hey Jude takes a bit of beating

Slightly off on a tangent I can’t understand why we don’t do Story of the Blues.

That song is a bit of a dirge, though. Hard to make that into a rousing terrace anthem

Yes, could repurpose this but for several of our current players:

Cameron Burgess
Samy Morsy
Conor Chaplin

We'd have a song that would actually last a few minutes!

I’ve tried that several times over the last few weeks, but can’t get it going.

Will give it another shot tomorrow.
