and motivation really is pointless. Come on! It’s in our hands whatever.
Anyway…
For me the key game is Boro Leeds. If Boro win that, Leeds are going to be in trouble.
Southampton drawing with Cardiff is the best possible result. Enough to keep them hypothetically in it, and up for the Leicester and Leeds games, especially if Leeds lose on Monday.
Southampton then beat Leicester.
Huddersfield losing today and are as good as gone – there to be picked off on the last day of the season.
Come on Watford! Be good to have Hull losing form before they face us.
Also be good if Coventry beat Man U, and focus just on the cup final.
I stand in front of one the YouTube bloggers – if you follow the guy you’ve probably seen the back of my head – but this is the best (partly because I prefer reading over watching).
My feeling about the other teams at the moment? Bit like a king watching the court fight among themselves. They’ll end up cancelling themselves out while we get promoted.
I’m still recovering from last night to be honest…
Anyway, just chuckling remembering when Morsy — who was incredible — got a full on boot in the head when challenging for a ball and, instead of the usual going down in a heap you’d see from every other player on the planet, didn’t even break stride.
1. Chaplin was not offside for the first goal, and this was a piece of sublime improvisation 2. Tuanzebe’s little socks at half mast dance through the Brum six yard box and delicate layoff onto a plate for Sarmiento is a thing of beauty 3. We have Kieffer Moore 4. Kieffer Moore’s nod on to Omari Hutchinson for the third goal assist is another thing of beauty. The mere presence of Kieffer Moore improves your team by about 20%. 5. Hutchinson’s run and finish was direct and never in doubt 6. We will be promoted without the need of a bothersome set of playoff matches.
I don’t think I’ve ever downvoted anything. Bit playground, isn’t it?
Was thinking of the Frimley incident…
It’s not worth getting into arguments on message boards, or getting upset. I used to on here back in the day.
I can see why people got annoyed at Frimley, but it’s pretty common for posters to take against (or for) particular players and especially managers. Just the way of things.
On the other hand, I guess we do need to think about the effect of our words.
I’m surprised someone from Wes Burns’ camp actually read the stuff on here. I kind of think they should just ignore it.
Basically, the internet was a terrible invention and we should just dismantle it.
In possession we go to 3 at the back (Fridge, Wolf, Clark), which leaves Clark really exposed if we lose the ball — he’s covering two spaces. I think teams know this and like to counter down our right/inside right, which can leave him betwixt and between, but I think this is just down to our tactics and willingness to take a risk. Unfortunately, he gets a bit of (unfair) stick for this apparent indecision. The upside is Burns plays as a forward and Davis doesn’t have to worry about covering.
We ditched the pass pass pass out from the back today, opting for a couple of short passes followed by a Hladky ball into the centre circle, which Moore picked up more often than not. Thought this worked well.
WBA are a bit like Leicester in that they’ll sit back on a lead. We find this easier to cope with than, say, Leeds continuing to go toe to toe and outplaying us simply because they have better players. Our patterns and technique help us get around and through defences. I think WBA were fairly comfortably on top when they scored, but were then too defensive.
Connor Chaplin’s finishing is a bit off. Moore has slotted into our system well and wins a lot of possession. He also likes to keep his hair just right during the game, which I quite admire.
against an excellent team. Completely rattled WBA and should have won.
Yes, Woolfie should have got a challenge in for their first, but his distribution was very good the whole game.
Playing like that we are still in the race for the top two.
Also, what a game — nice to see the WBA keeper acknowledging this at the end by giving us a round of applause. It is *so* good watching Town at the moment.
What a pile of utter shïte. Should hang their heads in shame.
Get those Maidstone lads in as backup for Hirst and keep Broadhead on the bench. Tuanzebe could learn a thing or two about defending from them as well.
making an overlapping run around Leif Davis in the buildup to that goal. Pulling a couple of Leicester players out wide, creating a bit more space in the middle so Luongo can get the shot in.
Edmundson and Woolfenden (and Clark in the half and half position) works for me.
Woolfenden is so underappreciated, and that makes me sad.
Was listening to R5 last night and some sort of show/podcast. Everyone was asked for their manager of the year, and everyone replied “Pep Guardiola”.
Apart from Paul Robinson (ex Leeds keeper), who said Kieran McKenna.
Brought home what a fantastic year it’s been and how lucky we are to have such a great team and manager. We’re second in the Championship. I repeat: SECOND IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP!
