Serious subject. People who campaign for it seem dead set on the idea (sorry ). In all seriousness, I hope I never find myself in the position of wanting that option for myself or a loved one. I’m sure it’s an ethical minefield, but I’m leaning towards being in favour for terminal cases.

Just to be a pedant here I think all euthanasia cases are terminal.
I agree. Doesn't seem right to make someone suffer when they needn't. Seeing someone become a husk of themselves with no prospect of recovery is incredibly painful and undignified in many cases.
Having to put your dog down is a pretty harrowing experience, but it's done out of kindness because you don't want something you love to suffer unnecessarily.
It is true that some would take advantage of it for nefarious purposes but the same can be said for power of attorney. Regulate it and make it happen.
I think if someone has a terminal illness or suchlike and are able to make choices for themselves it should be allowed. I don't think it should be easily accessible at all as it should really be an absolute last resort.
