So I owe a charity of your choice £100 14:43 - Apr 7 with 3252 viewsTieDyedIn95

For me dismissing the takeover as half-term hilarity and Twitter-fake news. I am genuinely shocked Evans got £40mil for the club though, if only he had negotiated some of our transfer dealings along those lines... anyway...

Drop some suggests below, names/links - I will then take the lot and put a poll up and at the end of the month drop £100 sobs to the TWTD charity of choice.

Football League First Division / Premier League Champions (1): 1961—62 - Runners-up (2): 1980—81, 1981—82 Football League Second Division / EFL Championship Champions (3): 1960—61, 1967—68, 1991—92 - Play-off winners (1): 1999—2000 Football League Third Division / EFL League One Champions (2): 1953—54, 1956—57 - Southern League Champions (1): 1936—37 FA Cup Winners (1): 1977—78 - Texaco Cup Winners (1): 1972—73 UEFA Cup / UEFA Europa League Winners (1): 1980—81

The fact he got £40m has got me questioning the acumen of our new owners! No way I'd have valued us anywhere near that, especially as we don't own the ground.

I'll chuck in a small amount too (whichever charity's decided, they're all good), as I've been a tad sceptical throughout.

Yeah, when it came out that it was closer 10-20mil I thought, well maybe that's worth a punt but for a club unlikely to reach the Playoffs and could still arguably fall out of the top 10, £40mill is one hell of a chunk of dough.

Does it say a lot about:

ME's valuation of us and reluctance to sell (he has shown the same reluctance with selling players too);
Their valuation of us;
Their ability to fund us?

I hope it does. If they are prepared and able to pay what it takes, that has to be promising.

Well he could have got double that surely had he sold in 2018 and he'd have recouped a large chunk of his losses!

Hey if they can throw away 40mil and take on the club, then they must have some cash to spend. They wouldn't waste 40mil of public money for no reason, it's not as if they are fans and this is a hobby project for them. It's business.

Sir Bobby Robson foundation is a great shout.

If, and it’s only a suggestion, you’d consider putting the other half here:

I’d match it with £50 of my own.

Cheers, mister!

The Refugee Therapy Centre will be very happy with that. Am speaking to them tomorrow and have already passed on our good wishes to them in anticipation of their reopening. Will update the thread once I have more info.

Thanks again, most generous!
