Last year Labour had 4 holocaust deniers on their approved list of candidates. This year I believe it was just the two. So some progress.
Two weeks ago the chair of Dorset Labour association was suspended for sharing holocaust denial online.

The op specifically said that the xenophobia of the leave campaign had turned him into a vociferous supporter of Corbyn. I think it’s relevant to then point out that he is supporting somebody who has enabled racism in the Labour Party to the extent that they are now only the second party, after the BNP, to be investigated by the EHRC. |

Absolutely. There's nothing shocking or extreme about Corbyn's policies as there's similar all over Europe in countries that are performing better than us. And indeed they wouldn't be labelled as dangerous or unrealistic if anybody but Corbyn had talked about them.
We've just lost sight of what's important as our centre has been dragged further to the right over the past 30-40 years. We'd never have started the NHS or made any of the other sweeping social improvements of the last century if we had the narrow view we have today. |

Western Europe as a whole has no problem with the types of policies (and paying for them) in the last Labour manifesto. Neither do most Brits if they are asked about these outside of the usual party political and personality nonsense.

I can't think of another European country that has renationalised something at a price of it's choosing which isn't the the market price and forced the people selling it to accept government bonds instead of cash as payment.
That's the only one that really bothers me that I can think of as I think it sets a dangerous precedence and could discourage a lot of investment. As you say, many of the policies are used in other countries (although I confess I don't remember everything in the last manifesto). I do hope the costings document is more realistic this time (and they should get a lot of kudos for even having one unlike the Tories) so everyone knows the implications of the spending up front.
It will be interesting to see the manifestos when the GE is called.
