Think that is rather spinning what PL said at his presser. From what I gather PL decided to move him on for reasons unrelated to needing the fee, wanted rid of him. Don't think he really took to him.

And let’s be honest, anybody jumping around and dancing at the end of season dinner needed shipping out.

We got rid of Gerken too (a few hours before the dinner started obviously) and the less said about that, the better!

Glad we sold him to a promotion rival anyway.

Can't wait until he scores a couple against us.

Back handed compliment there.

You've just described us as promotion contenders.

In Harrison's case it was that sort of thing which I gather was why PL wasn't keen on him, whether he thought he was a decent player or otherwise.

My favourite Hurst signing was his severance agreement.

Not sure quite what you mean, but obviously the sale was in the context of being relegated and losing £9m. However, Harrison's sale was as PL wanted rid rather than to raise cash.

ITFC had a liability of £450k for Harrison which was budgeted for, plus Harrison's wages (say £4k per week for another 2 years)

There has therefore been a saving of that amount made, and rather than be invested it has just gone into the running costs.

Whereas had we not sold Harrison we'd have still been on the hook for that money and had the extra striker in the squad.

Indeed, the instalment due to Bristol Rovers - rather than the sell-on as PL said - this summer was presumably £450,000 (or a greater or lesser part of). However, I think Harrison would have been sold whatever the financial position.

I was just going to ask if Birmingham were playing a decent team.....

Let's not all go overboard. I was surprised we got rid of him but from this thread it looks as though him and PL didn't get on.

If he bags 20 league goals then we can start crowing about why did we let him go. I'm being back for now....

I'm not 'jizzing off' over anything. I said weeks ago I expect him to have a big season. We need a striker...i'd have been happy if he stayed. There's no jizzing here.
