Obviously Hurst has it at the moment - but if Hurst does get bullet this weekend (and we don't win) will there be a manager in the football league recent history with a 0% final record over that many games?

This is why win percentage is such a terrible indicator. Points per game is the far better way to score managers IMO.

Truly impaired.

Not quite so many games, but Frank De Boer recently had a 0% league win ratio at Palace.

Not even sure whether he got a draw?

Terry Connor had a 0% win percentage during his official managerial reign at Wolves. That was in 13 games.

Great spot - thank you

Hurst will be at 13 if you include the Exeter game though

Town didn't win any of their first 14 games in Roy Keane's first season.

But did win his first two games (I think) after his appointment at the back end of the previous season.

But averaging just over half a point a game will not take you anywhere except relegation.

Err..yes. But that didn't really count, of course.

No way would Evans act that quickly.

Two of the better, if not best managers last season in terms of results per expectation were those at Preston and Milwall. Make of that what you will, but given the feebleness of the teams at the bottom and Brum's impending doom, it is entirely possible to stay up in this division without winning a game on current form.

He did, and also the League Cup game at Shrewsbury, although on penalties.

Sky got that stat wrong. For what it's worth we're a point better off than we were at this point in Keano's 2009/10 season start.

I agree but it's a far better indicator IMO.

You can play 6 games and get 6 draws or play 6 and get 6 losses and have the same win percentage.

Truly impaired.

Dunno but Mick, Jewell and Keane have all had some pretty disastrous seasons in the padt.

Which means Evans is comfortable being in this position and will give Hurst time. I don't expect a sacking any time soon. If anything, at least we can see what Evsns is trying to build on the pitch even if there are categoric failings. I had no idea what Keane's plan was...

Evans isn't trying to build anything at all. After his disastrous experiences of the Keane & Jewell regimes, he's simply trying to keep Town in this league without losing too much money. In the case of Hurst, Evans may have backed the wrong horse, but I don't think he'll panic until December.

I agree. At whatever point he starts to get serious, we'll still have an awful squad. That needs addressing properly in January.
