I just don't think Evans would hold out until the start/middle of May if we weren't going to get his number 1 candidate. That means someone who is currently in a job and who would logically be at the top of any list. And Mowbray ticks every box for me.

As Super Frans has said, despite what Milne and ME have said, they clearly want a manager who is currently in a job, otherwise they would have appointed by now.
And as most of the contenders they are likely to want are in the midst of promotions, then clearly we will have to wait until those promotion battles have run their course. |  |

I agree.
However, we could still end up with one of the out-of-work ones if we don't manage to get the one he wants.
