I know this probably isn't a surprise 13:55 - Feb 19 with 25168 viewsclive_baker

and I'm not one for 'def info', but I was having a beer over the weekend with someone who's very much in the know when it comes to ITFC, at a senior level.

He told me that MM is 100% leaving in the summer. Said there's no appetite from ME and co to extend his stay here and even if Mick was open to it. Search is already underway for his successor and the club is hoping to announce something before the end of the season.

Interestingly also mentioned the disconnect between MM and Town fans is a big concern to ME, and this was 24 hours prior to him telling us to fk off.

About 6 weeks ago someone told me we were interested In Sol Campbell. I looked him up to see what he was up to these days and he had just been turned down for the Oxford job so gave it no more thought. If you google him there are lots of interviews from him stating his desire to get in to Mgmt and bemoaning his lack of opportunities. Who knows but it links to your story and why not give him a chance.

You tease.

I hope you took it down because you were making it up! If not... shudder.

I wonder if we've had a look at Harry Kewell at Crawley? They're flying this season after a tricky start.

Campbell's an @rsehole, wouldn't want him anywhere near Town

If that was really true then ME would have sacked him now, in time for season ticket renewals, and either got a new manager in for the last few games or a caretaker manager in

I also don’t believe that anyone senior who knows ME would breach confidentiality, certainly to someone like you who repeats it on a public message board.

As for ME being concerned about w disconnect with the fans, that hasn’t stopped him over the last ten years refusing to even be photographed.

A number of posters, on various threads, who were at the Bristol game have stated that Milne was alluding to the fact that MMc is finished here.

So...

- Mick definitely off. Contract won’t be extended.
- ME very conscious of impact on attendances and relationship with fans.
- ME hasn’t had the conversation with Mick formally yet, wanted to wait as long as possible before doing so as not to rock the Apple cart this season.
- The ‘chat’ is imminent though, a date is in the diary.
- Suggested that Mick might not have stayed even if Evans wanted him to.
- Highly likely that MM will see out the season though, new appointment would be in the summer.
- Mowbray has been spoken to about the job but doesn’t want any distraction from Blackburn at the moment. Still a possibility though.
- Others have also been spoken to including an ‘big name’ in the game, from his playing days. I’ve been scratching my head on the train and wondering if it’s Lampard? Not sure if he would want to get into management?
- No suggestion that ME is looking to sell.

He wasn't chatting nonsense then.

I think ME will get Mogga at last. Might have to let him see out the season at Blackburn but if they choke miss out on promotion I would think he's a cert based on what I was told. Guess if he gets them up it might be a bit of a harder sell.

As I said in an earlier thread this morning, I presume Evans is banking on Mowbray's previous connections with the club that he'll be fairly easy to prize away from Blackburn, regardless of whether they go up or not.

The only thing ME doesn't go out with is his wallet.

If he genuinely cared he'd have paid out for Mick to leave and brought someone else in. The fans have been secondary to Evans since his arrival, and his next appointment will still have to work within the same tight budget.

ME is probably working on the assumption that there will be a lot of managers out of contract or sacked in the summer and therefor cheaper to bring in.

Not just Mowbray, have a look at his number 2. So to speak. Unless you're a doctor specialising in that kind of thing.
