35 years in a drawer..... 19:55 - Aug 14 with 7377 views | Jonnas | Bit of a cool story bro but worth sharing. Went for dinner the other night at someones house, friend of the missus, never met them before. Anyway, when the chap found out I was a blue he disappeared upstairs only to reappear with an an old envelope dated Feb' 1982. Inside were signed photo's of SBR and some of the squad! Apparently his dad's mate had some connection to the club and had sent him the photo's. Anyhow, he basically said that he wasn't into football and would I like to keep them. After a bit of arguing I agreed to take them on the basis that I would mount them and put them on display. He said they had basically sat in a drawer for 35 years and he would prefer that someone had them on display who appreciated them. I went home a bit worse for wear, grinning like a cheshire cat. Anyway, I picked them up from the framers today.......

I had all those signed photos but being an 11 year old kid, I stuck them on my wall with blutac where they got dirty and weathered. Wish I'd taken care of them.

35 years in a drawer..... on 20:59 - Aug 14 with 5615 views | Jonnas | Bit of a shame Steve McCall is missing but I'm really pleased with it, the framer has done a great job. Obviously I did wonder how much something like this would be worth but I'd never sell it. That wasn't the deal.........

Some things are treasured because they are worth a lot, whilst other things are valuable because they are treasured.

35 years in a drawer..... on 21:07 - Aug 14 with 5564 views | tcblue | This is great stuff, but as an aside, whom did you use for the framing? It's a great job. I have some things I need framed, some sports jerseys as well as other memorabilia.
35 years in a drawer..... on 21:09 - Aug 14 with 5559 views | olimar | Any idea why the club produced the cards in the first place? Were they something they sent out to fans who asked about their favourite player or whatever? They look great, Im wondering if more are out there (presume they must have been made for some purpose!).

Are you the owner of those cards? No. Clearly the offer wasn't to you. People and their egos...

I used this guy, he's a friend of mine. I basically just asked him to frame it and do what he thought was best. It's got the special UV protection glass to keep the photos from fading which wasn't cheap but I think was worth it...... I live amongst the enemy in Naaarfolk so he's not local to Ipswich. http://www.mrbee.co.uk

I'm pretty sure they used to sell them in the Club shop, someone may correct me but I'm sure I remember buying some in the shop under the Pioneer Stand (as it was then)

I have a vague recollection of this for later players- the photos had a white strip for an autograph. Its all a bit hazy though....!
