there is an argument to partition the current sports packages into Tier 1, 2, 3.
I'd love to have a channel with JUST the Championship as well as county cricket.
I'll NEVER subscribe to Sky, only had it for 6 months back in 1998.
It would need to be cheap.
Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me.
Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing.
Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial.
Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid.
Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.
I think the BBC should have a sport channel and have done so for years. I'm sure it annoys people when a sport takes over BBC1/2 and they'd just put the content over there.
Loving their idea of making the iplayer into a subscripion based product like netflix. Not too far away. And yes will still have free content, but enhanced to have complete series like All4.

No, completely disagree. Who would fund it and can you imagine the rubbish that would be on there? Any football rights would be too expensive. NFL, too expensive. Tennis, too expensive. F1, too expensive. Other sports like snooker, badminton and even fishing have a home already on bigger sports channels.
We'd soon be down to synchronised swimming and ice skating. It would be pointless.
I would like an opt out as a Sky/BT subscriber from sports I have no interest in. I'd like saving money by getting rid of F1, Moto GP, Nascar etc.
Sky sports news was on freeview until a couple of years ago.
I think they realised that people loved Geoff Stelling and company so much that they could monetise it.
They do monetise with advertising, which is what annoys me about Sky's policies of not only taking money for subscription, but then making you watch ads too.

Read in 'The Sun' yesterday that Sky are contemplating splitting the Sports packages into separate streams, ie like the current F1 channel, but for footy cricket, golf. Each stream would be charged separately so that the cost of the overall sub will come down.

You ever though about subscriptions for this baby. You could offer different levels of service, say have a standard subscription and a more expensive one to add 1 year's ban protection.

You can pay to have ads removed, but a subscription wouldnt stop you from being banned. that would be madness.
