I work for a multinational company. My CEO who was Swedish called me on the morning after disbelieving the outcome, and commented that surely the voters should have had to take a course and exam to qualify to be able to make a decision on such a complex and many faceted issue. |

Spine tingling is right - I sitting near the half way line listening to the Town fans who had the Holt End at Villa Park in the 75 semi-final v West Ham and the volume was incredible. Simple to remember a single word and no gratuitous swearing involved. |

I was at the match and was lucky enough to meet Bobby Robson in Barcelona some years later when he autographed it for me. Great memories. I have a feeling the new Ipswich is going to give the fans much younger than me some good times too! |

I was working in EEB Russell House in 71/72. Great view of the practice pitch (now the fanzone) so well remember taking slow walks upstairs to the half landing windows to watch Hunter, Whymark et al training. |

100% agree - hearing the Ipswich fans at Aston Villa ground FA cup semi v W Ham 1975 from the half way line where I was lucky to get a ticket - the sound was incredible and the word Ipswich fits the tune perfectly |

He was brilliant , seemed to be able to hang in the air heading on for first Johnson and then Mariner - great pairings. He was thin and lanky and always looked like he needed a good meal - personally I think he is one of the most unsung heroes of Robson's first teams. Saw his 4 goals against Lazio - wow is the best word . Then he got another 4 against WBA in Mariner's first match - yes, I think injuries caused him to miss out on the 78 Cup Final. Great player. |

was it Auld Lang or Amazing Grace which "Ipswich, Ipswich..." was brilliant from the Town fans in the Holt End in the 1975 semi final v West Ham -I was sat around the half way line and the continuous noise was awesome |

Thanks for posting - the triangles between Chambers McGoldrick and Bishop setting up Bishop's fantastic cross were superb - matched by Tabb's amazing header - those really were the days when McCarthy was super-mick! |

Best one I saw was the 6-0 win over Man U when they were 2nd and we were third , and the missed penalties! A few years earlier I had missed Paul Mariner's home debut beat WBA 7-0 - Whymark scored 4 as he had done against Lazio which I did see. Great pairing, |

Was there with my late mother - only visit she ever made to PR - think she wanted to see George Best who scored 2 goals, one when he was on the ground, after Jimmy Robertson had given us the lead. Robson said the Board called him in the next morning and instead of the dreaded sack, the Cobbolds apologised for the crowd chanting "Robson out" and told him to get on with the job, Class! |

Difficult to know which seats are sold and which available - I had 6 seats in Magnus M Row Q last night. When I bought them there were no seats available from row R back to the top. Actually all those rows from R back were empty last night. if I was a cynic, I might take from that it was a way to encourage to get tickets sold while so few seemed available but actually there were many available, anyone know what goes on with this? |

I was at that Leeds match and I think you are right - that was the first time I heard it. Magilton was a bit upset at first but then he got with the irony! |

I paid for audio thinking I was getting Radio Suffolk ( I live in Cheshire). Was immediately underwhelmed by the commentary - didn't hear who fouled for the penalty , and Carlos as expert pundit didn't seem to say much. I always find MM, although a bit dry, extremely informative on formation, tactics etc and certainly missed that. Don't think I will sign in just for audio again. [Post edited 2 Aug 2022 14:34]

Showed Greaves was still a top goal scorer as all have said. I lived near West Ham for a while and went along to see him , Moore and Hurst. But what about Robertson's goal - I still think of the the purchases Robson made, Robertson was one of the most important in the context of the club's situation at the time, Cant beat Mariner, Muhren and Thijjsen, but up there? |

Exactly right. That was some night - I remember it clearly - and you are right about the noise level pushing the team on to a win - I think Baxter headed in the other goal. Without that win, as you say probably relegation and then no glory years. Jimmy Robertson was magic - I voted for him for one of the 10 faces on the stand posters |

A great night. I was in line with Mills' shot so got a good view of the deflection. Superb build up play to the Lambert miss. I remember there was a hit song at the time , something like "were off to sunny Spain, e viva Espana" - crowd had a bit of fun singing that! |

Following on from Mullets amusing report on chanting "Putin is a "w....r" at Fleetwood, does chanting "U Kraine, U Kraine, ..." as 2 separate words continuously work for tonight during the minute's applause? |
