| News Comment | Blues Close in On Manchester City Keeper at 10:46:35
Of course this is not a priority but it is deal for the future. Yes we need to strengthen our first team squad but must plan ahead as well. Criticisms and frustration with deals like this are out of place. |
| News Comment | Former Town and England Striker Johnson Dies at 13:35:56
Did not realise the deal meant we got Jonty and money, thought it would be the other way round. On honey moon in 1973 in Mallorca came across an Everton fan and the comment made on the transfer was that we got a Derby horse in exchange for cart horse. Probably a bit unfair on Belfitt but not that much! A much underrated striker just behind Mariner and Crawford in my estimation. His ability to hang in the air was outstanding. |

Remember we have a years option on him which undoubtedly we I'll take up. If we then offer appropriate terms in 2023 and those are declined then we would be entitled to a development fee from whoever he joined. |
| News Comment | Town Re-Sign Keeper Hayes at 19:34:06
Remember Nick Pope. If we had called him back from Bury Town Reserves no doubt many on here would have been suitably unimpressed. |

I was there that day as a 16(just) year old grammar school boy. One down at half time, the second half was just brilliant. Lincoln were relegated that year and, as as far as I can remember, have never been back to that level. Their manager at the time was Bill (?) Anderson who made his name wheeling and dealing including selling and buying Andy Graver three times, each time for a profit! |
| News Comment | Former Defender Bolton Dies at 19:44:10
Linkboy the other Bolton was Ronnie Bolton. We signed him from Bournemouth and sold him back to them. After that he played for them against Bury Town at Kings Road in the FA Cup. They were both about as successful as each other. |

Not the most elegant of players but always gave 100%. Milburn bought him and Jim Thorburn from Raith after a season they conceded well over a 100 goals! Thorburn was not a great success strangely enough. |

Thomas would tell his linesmen that all they were required to do was tell when the ball went out of play, everything else he would decide. Every official in those days hated being his linesman, and yes I was there at Stamford Bridge. There always doubts about him, you can ask Brazil. |

We are where we deserve to be. The worst state since we turned professional in 1936! |
| News Comment | Bobby Robson Appointed Town Boss 50 Years Ago Today at 13:07:30
I was also there and joined in the chant of 'Robson out'. But what is forgotten was that the fans were upset because he substituted Mick Hill, our only forward that night that looked likely to score, with Bryan Hamilton. It was pure frustration which Mick Hill milked to the utmost. Of course what then happened was the next day the club made their best ever money signing in Allan Hunter. He immediately brought solidarity to the defence. Without that signing we would never have had the Dutchmen. Please note I said money signing, Kevin Beattie did not cost us anything. |
| News Comment | Lee to Front Town Link With Culford School at 19:28:30
Yes, John Motson was there at the time I was a pupil at KEGS Bury St. Edmunds. It was only the prep school that played Ass football, our u12's in the first year always played them home and away, after that we only played Culford at cricket as rugby was all important. |
