Closer to 25 - 30 years old. The Railway End is slightly more recent, between 20 - 25 years.
Still relatively recent in the grand scheme of things- there’s a general disrepair about the place though, a little like PR became in latter Evans years. |

I don’t think that what Goodman is trying to say is the problem here. The fact that he’s about as articulate as a plank of wood and feeds of his own sensationalism is the problem. That and the fact that it’s all just so pointless and obvious.
It’s hardly a searing insight to suggest that the top four are consistent and that the chasing pack are capable of competing but are less consistent.
Referring to the likes of Goodman, Hinchcliffe, Savage, Sutton and Redknapp as (and plenty of others) journalists is inaccurate and misleading. They are merely cynical ploys to motivate us all to phone premium rate phone lines and engage them in moronic public arguments.

In your first paragraph you’ve absolutely nailed the Sky / Hinchcliffe / Goodman / Sutton angle, conveniently ignoring an exceptional season and a play off winner that finished below us by potentially 15 points or more….

I really don’t see it as anything but a gimmick.
The referee’s need to generally improve their consistency with yellow cards for time wasting, fouling players to prevent a break and shirt pulling etc. If a player knows for sure that he will be booked and / or sent off for cheating no other deterrent would be needed.
A combination of over analysis of VAR and this will fragment the game even more than it is already. I suspect that it will get used tactically too.
A general clamp down on cheating through yellow and red cards is all that is needed. |

Oddly I miss the bogs (no other word does them justice) at the back of Churchman’s.They epitomised football grounds in the 70’s and 80’s.
Unpretentious, filthy dirty and if you weren’t extremely careful, likely to do you harm.

There is certainly no shame in being distracted by ‘other more interesting pubs!’
In fact I think that’s very much the point - the beer is decent but not exceptional and I find the choice overwhelming.
Give me a well cared for pint of London Pride in a decent pub off the high street and I’ll be equally if not more happy.
If any of you are ever in Birmingham I do recommend the Purecraft Bar and Kitchen just by Colmore Row. Local Purity beers at their very best including their wonderful UBU.
If Lager is more your thing then their Lawless Lager is pretty good too.
If you’re hungry their homemade scotch eggs are superb! |

My first reaction to seeing this was that it took me back to the ludicrous sound bites that were trotted out by Ian Milne and that other mouthpiece for Evans’s failures - Lee someone or other?
Several years on and Ashton’s undeniable success in the transfer market lends a credibility to this sort of statement that neither of them could ever have had! How far we have come! |

Sums it up nicely.
It’s impressive in terms of a concept but I don’t feel a need to go back.
On the occasion I went, suited and booted straight from work and very sober, me and my drinking buddy were instantly latched onto by some lad trying to get us to buy him a pint because ‘you’re obviously on expenses’. I pointed that how we were paying for our beer was none of his business and he got quite shirty and waited for the next bloke in a suit.
For the record we were paying with our own money. |

Bacon and gammon are essentially the same thing, and grilled gammon with pineapple is a popular menu choice. No major problem with that.
Not quite sure where wider component parts of a FEB sit with it though; eggs, black pudding etc.
Pineapple on pizza should be outlawed. |
