| Forum Reply | Charlton a concern? at 10:13 18 Oct 2022
If Charlton lose Chuks Aneke again, then Ben Garner's typically organised defensive unit will be thrown into disarray. |

I'd argue that Warne has a better squad at his disposal than he had at Rotherham. Curtis Davies and James Chester in a back three with young Eiran Cashin. Cultured wingers in Barkhuizen and Mendez-Liang, as well as a strong, yet arguably inexperienced midfield. It'll be an interesting game on Friday. Warne has managed to balance a Derby County going through a transitional period both on and off the pitch very well. |

Yes, the foundation's page could have handled it more professionally. This is the internet after all, I think a lot of people on it generally don't put much thought into what they post before it goes live in front of thousands. That being said, Talking Town have got a reputation in and around the fan base of toxic behavior. From publicly calling a fellow supporter out for working at McDonalds, to being needlessly confrontational and arrogant. I say this with all due respect, especially given how the podcast is obviously a passionate fan-led project, but they need to take a good look at themselves and the way they conduct themselves. They may scoff at the suggestion, though as we're probably all aware this isn't the first time they've upset a contingent of Town supporters. I'm sure this whole debacle wouldn't have escalated unless TT had done something to upset him. |

I'm rarely active on this forum, though first off I just want to put to the record that I obviously don't condone anything said during the video. I've been fairly close to the individual recorded in the video for quite some time, as he would always comment on my Twitter posts about Ipswich, and would often just want to talk about football. His social media usage drastically changed when he met a bunch of fans on social media. I have a rough idea of who they are judging by what he's told me, though it would be unfair to throw out allegations against anybody. There seems to be an element of peer pressure in the relationship that he has with them. He's often upset by things they've said to him or things that they've told him despite the fact that he still regularly attends games with them. They've also joked about his mental health, and have jokingly encouraged him to harm himself, which regardless, is absolutely not on. There was also an incident last year where one of these lads actively tried to prank him by convincing him that his season ticket had been taken away. In fact, there was a thread on it last year: The club was incredibly supportive, though saying that, we need to be careful. I agree with those who've suggested that he should be taken to games by a responsible adult. We need to keep in mind the circumstances behind what has happened. It could also be helpful to let him know what was wrong with what he had said, as it is more than likely that he was coerced into saying those disgusting comments. [Post edited 13 Sep 2021 2:05]

| Forum Reply | Why do a minority of people have a problem with the EADT? at 23:35 9 Jul 2021
Probably has ambitions of becoming an ITK/a source for Ipswich sources. Not exactly sure why he feels as though the local press are direct competition for his show. Both are completely different. One's a show giving a voice to the fans, and the other's a professional newspaper reporting on our football club. |

After a tweet that circulated yesterday, I'm just curious as to why some people have such a problem with the EADT? I genuinely don't understand it. I find it strange how a minority of the fanbase has such ill feelings towards the paper. They do a cracking job. Besides that, fan-made content (such as Talking Town, Blue Monday, Naked Footy) also do a fantastic job of providing fans with alternative content. Am I missing something? He's doing a good job. I'm very proud of the Foundation's support for charities across East Anglia. #ITID |

The writer apologized for making a mistake. From what I was told, the quotes aren't necessarily wrong. The writer, however, managed to get Ipswich confused with Portsmouth. |

A fellow Cornishman! Not a clue, I'd usually travel up a couple of times per season to watch the games, so always bought a membership. |

I assume Cook has seen something in Craney. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't he a kitman? He's doing his badges as well, so best of luck to him. Welcome to this wonderful club! |

Exactly. Again, I'm not trashing their content. It's the interactions I've had with them that have been disheartening. You always get the minority like that on social media, though. It is what it is. |

It's genuinely infuriating. I'm going to try and say this as professionally as I can, so feel free to call me out if I say anything out of line. As a sports journalism student myself, it does my head in to see a minority of our fanbase, who know nothing about the professionalism of journalism, calling out the local media. One of the journalists at the EADT is my mentor, and the amount of abuse they've endured from certain fans in our fanbase is genuinely horrifying. I'm not going to call out the said podcast, as I genuinely believe it's each to their own. From a PR perspective, though, the way they conduct themselves on social media is dreadful. One of the hosts apparently works in the media industry. He's a perfectly reasonable individual in person, but surely he must know when to draw the line? Even media law, especially when dealing with newspapers. But then again, what I've written might not necessarily be fair. As somebody who has their own podcast, I've been disheartened by some of my interactions with the hosts. They were hostile when I first started creating it - most of which was for my university coursework. I wish all the podcasts could get along. All the shows create some fantastic content, from TT to BM. The said podcast lot are all lovely people when you talk to them individually. I talk to a few of them regularly, so I'm in no way bashing them. [Post edited 13 May 2021 20:39]
