Using our Norn Ireland influence for this kid?? on 11:57 - Sep 16 with 641 views | ArnoldMoorhen | Personally I don't think it is any coincidence that Keiron Dyer, Wayne Rooney and Michael Owen all had perennial injury problems having played Men's Professional football whilst still schoolkids. I fear Andre Dozzell may not make as many games in his career as he might have, too. I would like to see 1 professional game a week maximum for under-21s, and further restrictions on under-18s.

Owen's injury issues came after his hamstring went "ping" while running on to a through-ball at Elland Road while playing for Liverpool.

Aged 19. And had to completely change the way that he played as a result. Would he have torn it had he only been allowed to play 1 game a week at that stage? Maybe, maybe not. But overall it would be a good policy change, and would benefit some super-talented players, and lots of others, too.
