Difference being that they were well drilled under MM for example. Yet again today you have to ask what on earth they’ve been doing on the training ground this last few weeks. Shape at the back was terrible and Bolton worked out immediately how to exploit us. Really poor managerial performance again.

MM knew he wanted defenders to defend - and that is how Spence and Kenlock were trained. As time has gone on, the full backs have been called on to advance deeper - and Kenlock (and I doubt Spence) isn't that kind of player.

I seem to recall Spence scoring a couple of goals... Millwall away for example. A fantastic 4-3 win, that was a good night...
