Parliamentary maths 21:27 - Sep 3 with 1028 views | Trequartista | If the opposition have a working majority of one, doesn't this mean that Corbyn would win a no-confidence vote on Johnson now?

Parliamentary maths on 21:33 - Sep 3 with 967 views | Nthsuffolkblue | Yes, but what happens then? No point displacing Johnson if you can't replace him. The objective now is simply to prevent a no-deal Brexit and that looks highly likely. Again though, what alternative will they produce instead. The EU will not continue to agree extensions simply for more faffing.

Well quite, but I thought Corbyn was waiting for the right time to call a no-confidence motion, so surely with a majority, now is that time (or tomorrow as they are a bit busy tonight)?

Trouble with having a GE right now is that you could tumble out on a no-deal because there is no-one running the country because they're all dicking about chasing votes.

Just abolish parliament completely and have a referendum on everything. It’s the only way forward.

Parliamentary maths on 21:54 - Sep 3 with 827 views | GlasgowBlue | It's worse than that. 16 Tories are expected to vote against the government tonight. Johnson has said they will be stripped of the whip*. This means that his majority will be -17. However, most of these Tories wouldn't support a Corbyn government. Neither will the Lib Dems, Soubry's indies or selected Labour rebels. There is no functioning government. The only solution is a general election but it looks likely that two thirds of MP's won't support that. So we are screwed. *One of the rebels is Nick Soames. So Boris will be kicking Winston Churchill's grandson out of the Tory party. [Post edited 3 Sep 2019 21:54]

No point in them staging a Queen's Speech - they can't even guarantee passing that.

If we don't have an election then we need a government of national unity that does not include the leaders of either the Tory or Labour party as PM. We need a functioning government.

That would be the ideal, but depends whether Corbyn (or his backers) can swallow his ambition for now. Don't think Johnson will get a look in.
