Norwich lining up Rhodes... 12:38 - Jun 22 with 2254 viewsITFCBlues

You’d presume on loan.

Not entirely sure he’s the solution to their problems playing as a lone striker! Think Blackburn and Sheff Wed fans have both mentioned how he’s not really up to playing up front as a lone striker

Playing declining massively - check
Club declining massively - check
Likely to be on high wages - check

I see no problem with this transfer

He seems to have lost mobility and sharpness over the last couple of seasons, certainly not the same player he was at Blackburn. Guaranteed to score against us if he goes there of course but I agree with you, don't think he is what they need.

Their problem is creating chances, not taking them.

He’d be a terrible signing with how they play and his wage packet

Agreed, but he is *garanteed* to score in at least 2 games next season if he plays though.

I have it on very good authority that he was very close to coming back here on loan this Jan, but we couldn't get it over the line before the deadline.

Apparently the wage commitments weren't too bad at the time as Sheff Wed were willing to pay the majority of his salary still. Not sure if they're in the market for a similar agreement now or not.

Apparently so.

I think they were willing to keep paying about 75% of it back in Jan.

He's done well when players like Gestede have been sharing the load and hassling the CBs. Similarly he's also done well when wide players like Conway and Roberts (in League One anyway) have been very proficient at supplying the bullets.

Whether he's physically or mentally on the slide, I don't know. But seems like the last few years he's mostly been found wanting because his teams just haven't been set up around him in the same way.

What a waste of wages.

If Rhodes scores for Norwich against us you'll find me on the Orwell Bridge.

I bet Bloots will downarrow this.
