Gentleman?
You'll be amazed how many ways you can inflect the word 'gentleman' so that you could, for example, say in such a way as to suggest 'mad old buffer who may have gone into hiding after Ipswich had a few good results' merely by your use of the word.
I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

I have no desire to see you inflect a gentleman, thank you very much. You keep your exotic tendencies to yourself.
How much is this beast. I've only been to Lavenham once, stayed in a nice hotel there and there was a pub next door. Is The Angel the hotel or the pub? Old Git had a shop opposite.
“Hello, I'm your MP. Actually I'm not. I'm your candidate. Gosh.”
Boris Johnson canvassing in Henley, 2005.

It's both.
The tomahawk is 50 odd quid I think, with the trimmings
I know someone who had one around 3 weeks ago and said it was fatty, ( I spose it would be, rib eye cut isn't it?).

You'd have stayed in The Swan if you were opposite OG's shop (which is now a Co-Op). The pub just up from The Swan is The Greyhound.
The Angel is in the Market Square. Used to be run by Marco Pierre White. It also has accommodation.
Best one in Lavenham is The Great House though.
Unless you want just a cream tea, in which case the NT tea shop is what you want. You might bump into David Mitchell in there, he's a regular visitor.
And Jenni Bond was filming 'Secrets of the National Trust' at Lavenham on Monday.

She's very tiny and quite sweary apparently.
Greyhound had a makeover a little while ago didn't it.
Prides itself as an up market place, restaurant etc.
Beer not cheap but I guess they no longer want to encourage drinkers, like the Swan.
John at the Angel is happy to take on the mantle of the village pub whilst maintaining the restaurant and hotel status. Seems to working.
Cock Horse near the church also does food but looks more of a pub. Not a great choice of beer though. Angel better for that too. Though the CH has the odd gig I think.
Number10 'wine bar' also does food but dunno if they're any good. Same owners as the CH. Friendly enough.

Here's a little Lavenham oddity for you
Some strange things happen in the village. I remember a load of photos my parents have from around 1980 of a big event in the market square to launch the Mini Metro.
Also, I saw Nigel Pearson sitting outside the Angel having a pint not too long after he was fired by Leicester.
