Only rainy one I can recall was Preston 2008. A very early Lisbie debut goal and still managed to lose.

I agree with this. Opening day always seems to be sunny. I can't picture opening day any other way.

Few years ago colleague of mine was doing Nodge v someone or other whilst I was doing Swansea v Newcastle (I think).

Bright sunshine over in Suffolk and Norfolk. Tipped down the entire game in Swansea.
