Yet but it's a long season, I'd be surprised if not at least one of them made it I can't see Reading or Huddersfield keeping up the pace

Yes but only a maximum of 3 teams get promoted, one of which will be Newcastle who already have parachute payments, therefore at least 5 out of the 7 teams you speak of will have overspent massively to me in the same league (hopefully) as us next season!

I'd add reading in that bracket also, paid 2.5 million just to loan Vydra one season.

Think it's eight: Newcastle, Villa, Norwich, Fulham, Cardiff, QPR, Reading and Wigan.

Working out well for Cardiff, Reading and Wigan, arguably you could also add Fulham and Norwich and Villa in that mix too. So even though it's not fair on the rest of the clubs, if you don't spend it wisely then it proves that money can't buy success.

Unfortunately money is ruining/has long ago ruined football. Well for us anyway. When we were good we had the best manager (Ramsey or Robson), excellent scouts and a board to die for. The fact that we were a small town club didn't matter because we had found the best non-football playing staff available, to support the players in what they were doing. Walker at Blackburn changed that, and everybody has been chasing success with money ever since. The bubble will burst one day, and there will be a lot of clubs in a real mess when it happens. It's been going for 25 odd years now, and maybe it will be another 25 yet, but the sums are unsustainable in my opinion. Long term anyway.

The Chinese may well burst the PL bubble. The fact that Hulk is the 3rd highest player in the world makes you think it will all end in tears, from what I saw of him in the Brazil team in the WC, you could argue Douglas would have been a better option!

You'd expect several of them to be more in the play-off battle come May, does seem to take teams a while to settle into the Championship sometimes, as per Norwich last time around, and them and Villa this year. Sometimes it takes a couple of seasons, as seems to be the case with Fulham. In addition to them you've got the likes of Derby, Brighton and Sheffield Wednesday throwing huge sums at it every year. Looks like the gamble might be paying off for them, but how long can the other continue to throw those sorts of sums at it?

Quite, the problem lies in the knock on effect of other teams feeling forced to compete with that and spending vast amounts of money to be up in the top 6, completely flaunting spineless FFP rules leaving clubs like us to stagnate.

So true Lampard and Gerrard or Rooney there next season? I wonder if they have a rule that the team must be made up if greater than 50% must be Chinese?

Don't think any of them to be honest, they are not going for the MLS approach by bringing in players for a retirement gig, they want the elite players in their prime like Oscar who is 24, Axel Witsel, I know Tevez has gone but he is still an elite player. Be interesting to see what happens with Sanchez at Arsenal, if he decides to go and double his salary then the PL is in trouble.
