Plymouth don’t like us much. 17:47 - Mar 2 with 6193 views | Churchman | According to one of the Pasoti forum faithfull: ‘We didn't punish them when we were on top, and they score a fluke goal that knocks the stuffing out of us. There's not an awful lot that can be done about the second. Ipswich have done it all season - been second best for large spells and come out on top with fluke goals, own goals, penalties, missed pens, offside goals, legitimate opposition goals disallowed. Sunderland, Coventry, us (twice), but the list goes on. Good luck to them, if they get what they want this year, they'll finish 20th next season and be playing us again 👍’’ Others feel the ref was in our pocket and our disgraceful intimidatory play went unpunished. Phil: I think you need to rewrite your report and the club buy 14000 tissues for their meagre support to wipe away the tears. Plymouth begin to irritate me now. They’re in trouble too, looking at the table. Oh dear, never mind, as Windsor Davis would say. [Post edited 2 Mar 17:48]

On a different forum, most Plymouth fans see it the same way people on here do. Could have gone either way first half, we were better second and deserved the win. I'm not sure what crack you'd need to be smoking to think otherwise really.

Plymouth don’t like us much. on 17:51 - Mar 2 with 5299 views | tractorboy1978 | They were soft as sh!te today. The ref gave them a free kick everytime one of ours went anyone near them in the first half.

Plymouth don’t like us much. on 17:52 - Mar 2 with 5257 views | Buhrer | Walking from the ground they spoke around me freely in their ignorance, not realising I was Ipswich. We are a "dirty bunch of fouling scumbags" ... "almost as bad as rotherham"! I feel sorry for anyone that blind to the truth of the majesty of McKennaball. Theyre going down with the Wednesday.

The Hutchinson one really made me laugh, he doesn't look like the strongest player but he completely out muscled Galloway and somehow a free kick, although apparently it was the linesman who gave that one.

Plymouth don’t like us much. on 17:55 - Mar 2 with 5142 views | pointofblue | We've been second best in two games this season - West Brom away and Leeds away. If they think we were second best today then they are utterly deluded. Funny how they ignore the decisions which have gone against us? Like the foul in the build up to Leeds opener at Elland Road or getting an apology letter from officials for missing clear issues leading to Preston's two opening goals (how often does that happen?) And it wasn't one of our players who went in dangerously with studs up...

I'd like to think that that's true. Certainly the truth is somewhere in between the tiresome nonsense that far too many on each side spouts. There's got to be some degree of sensible objectivity, especially when we're not angry or gutted that we've lost. We are not cheating scumbags but conversely the ref did not give them the benefit of every decision. It's not true to say that we were fouling them all the time and that we're a bunch of cheating scumbags. But it is true to say that we gave away a lot of niggly little fouls which were reasonably called as such. It's not true to say that the ref gave every single little touch as a foul and that Plymouth always went down like a sack of spuds. Yes there were some soft free kicks, but really, there are hundreds of decisions to make every match, and we need to stop grumbling that they don't always go our way. No major decision went against us, so happy days. A lot of the fouls were legitimate fouls and in my view the ref showed a lot of restraint not to show a yellow earlier. One Hutch challenge comes to mind (and I absolutely love the guy - between him and Axel for MOM for me). I really don't think any neutral would watch that match and conclude that the ref was much of a factor at all. They might watch the match and think that Ipswich give away too many little fouls (and I bear in mind it was away from home). I for one am sanguine about that - we won, and won well in the end. We have to put a boot in every now and then, but we can't then complain when the whistle goes. Every win without Morsy getting booked is a perfect result.

Be generous - we were also (just) second best to dirty Leeds at home. But the two games you mention - yes, we were well beaten.

I'd disagree there. We had a nightmare 15 minutes but, outside of that, I'd argue we were at least their equal.

Plymouth don’t like us much. on 23:15 - Mar 2 with 3058 views | Handslikeplates2 | Plymouth played amazing football last season to win the league, yet we still stole their thunder finishing second. I can understand why some Plymouth fans feel annoyed, yet I still feel the majority of Plymouth and Town fans still have a massive amount of respect for each other. I’m not going to get dragged in to this dislike thing.

Plymouth don’t like us much. on 08:31 - Mar 3 with 2300 views | Churchman | An interesting take from their forum:: “ In other words, (and unless my Maths is off here), Ipswich were committing a foul every minute that Argyle had possession of the ball today. That is a staggering statistic and leaves me very disappointed in their approach. It was systematic and deliberate and we could not gather any momentum as a result. McKenna said in the week that we were an excellent transition side and he clearly set out to stop us from building quickly from the back with lots of unnecessary fouls from their players. Notice how they were fouling from the front - Hutchison with I think 5 in the first half and Moore clipping Gibbo from behind for no reason.” We are clearly the dirtiest team to ever take the field. Perhaps McKenna should be hauled before the FA explain this disgrace. Then again….. Tbf, many of the comments are a bit more balanced than that nonsense. Every club has its weirds I suppose.

I think they tried to stifle us by going down at the slightest touch. One of the omari ones was right in front of me. Not a foul in a mllion years.

Hence..... are forums the right place to judge what a typical fan thinks? Or do we systematically pick out the most stupid one-eyed posters and regard them as typical?
Plymouth don’t like us much. on 10:08 - Mar 3 with 1870 views | ITFC_Forever | As Steve and Texters have said, all the ones we encountered to and from Plymouth and in the pub before were genuinely friendly and more than happy to chat and socialise with us, they laughed at the keyboard warriors who seem to have to much to say on-line.
