You think the Saudis will go for someone with no brand name to leverage and sell across their sphere of influence?

They'll go big and go for a massive name I'd have thought.

I'm not so sure. They'll have their advisors. They can hire and fire without any financial worry if it didn't work. All manager changes are a gamble.

Absolutely no chance.

They will go for a big name manager.

Truly impaired.

Not a chance.

Unlimited cash, will only want a name and no one is going to give a champions league side to someone that hasnt even managed a tier 1 side.

Not saying McKenna can’t do that, far from it as I think he’s the next best thing out there but clubs that are champions league / top 6 sides are not going to give a still very inexperienced manager the gig unless they are someone already within the club or a club legend type scenario.

West Ham are the type of club who could take the gamble and could be the level of club that McKenna gives serious consideration to. Maybe Forest as well as they will be safe and well backed.

But think even those two are only a consideration for McKenna if we don’t get promoted.

How many more threads about McKenna leaving? Have you not got better things to think about?

Pardon? I was just replying to the OP.

I have no fear of McKenna leaving at all but not sure why I shouldn’t be able to respond to a post that I totally disagree with.

Howe is Newcastle's equivalent of Mark Hughes. When he left, they went for a bigger name and the Magpies will do the same. At the very least they'll be looking at someone like Lopetegui.

There was a time when PL managers were sacked before we linked clubs to KM on this board. Now it appears to be each time a PL team loses before a sacking he his linked.

It's really starting to annoy me, why would any true Ipswich fan what to constantly worry and spread fear about another Championship or PL club who want to take KM from us?

Man U could well be looking now but very much doubt they will consider KM. But the Bookies might try and promote it to draw cash in but realistically no cha ce .

I found it embarrassing it appears he had to field a question about links to other managerial jobs in the press conference after the game yesterday.

Zero chance of Howe leaving Newcastle

Howe always felt like Newcastle’s equivalent of the Mark Hughes Man City era.

Almost certain their next manager will be a ‘name’

I’m sure it probably will...but it won’t be soon, as the OP stated. Howe is loved up there and has done exceptionally well so unless there’s a total implosion this season, he’ll get a few more years with a stronger squad at least.

Man Utd and Newcastle on 07:41 - Dec 11 with 1173 viewsC_HealyIsAPleasure

As others have said, if Newcastle decide Howe isn’t good enough for them they’ll 100% be looking for a big name. Same would go for Man U, clearly

Danger with McKenna will come from a forward-thinking team in the tier below. Fortunately with us going as we are we probably won’t have to worry about him going right now

That may change though if we just miss out on promotion and someone like Brighton have lost De Zerbi, but no point worrying about what may or may not happen, and besides the whole what if he takes another job fear is much better than hoping we’ll get rid!
