McKenna pressa 11:27 - Nov 11 with 2322 viewsDyland

“On top of that, other teams are allowed to have plans as well and it's been more common over the last few weeks that teams are trying to stop us, teams are changing their marking strategy through the middle of the pitch, teams are trying to really stop us playing through them and make it difficult.

“That’s then a challenge that the players on the pitch have to adapt to, have to rise to and I think they've been doing a terrific job trying to do so and trying to find different ways and build their way through the game and build pressure and work out where they overload and find the solutions as the game goes on, which is what you need to do and teams set out the stall to try and stop you.

“I think the supporters have been massive. I think everyone is pretty realistic with how difficult the games have been. Our record has been excellent, but the margins have been really tight and having the supporters right there with us and understanding the effort and the challenges the players are facing has been massive for us and is going to be massive for us for the rest of the season.”

Love this.

Will any Town manager ever truly compare to the great Sir Bobby, as a person as much as their football achievements, but there’s a really similar vibe to the way McKenna speaks about the game. So calm and respectful. It bodes amazingly well for him and I’m just gonna enjoy it while we have him.

I think it's clear he has a good future in the game. It's like having a university professor taking a PE lesson, we're blessed.

Just waiting for McKenna to confuse George Hirst with Geoff Hurst for a true Robson comparison! ;-)

Just one small problem; sell their houses to who, Ben? Fcking Aquaman?

Sign a player called Bryan McKenna and call him Kieron by mistake.

But if you're really honest you miss the incomprehensible and delusional post match analysis of Lambert. The current reasoned and knowledgeable interviews just aren't the same. Thankfully.

Because so few are open in the way they explain other teams and our tactics; structure on the pitch; approach to developing possession from GK it’s hard to know how many other managers and coaches there are in this bracket. But having had a sight of the modern data, sport science, field coach you would want to go back from here would you! Who knew, when all those poorly recruited managers were twisting money out of Marcus Evans that a decent CEO and coaching team was the first thing to invest in along with players acquire to fit the culture. Madness.

Hes absolutely brilliant at pressers... he talks intelligently and apparently insightful without actually giving much away about all the systems used to achieve the current success. He'll now be analysing the next batch of games which I guess will be everything till the FA Cup 3rd round??... By that time our B team might have a completely different look to it than what was considered the reserve 11 v Wolves.

Or paul, I’ll just sit here in the Dug out until I get fired Jewell.. can’t remember him saying anything of note to be fair..

Absolutely. We are very lucky to have him and whatever the outcome this season these really are the days and we should cherish the good times.

This is why I find it really frustrating that certain 'fans' still moan and complain about results like Rotherham and Brum. We've lost one game this season, ONE! Unprecedented.

I mean yeh, the squad and football was pinnacle banter era, but sure I remember him kind of admitting he wasn't up to the task. I'd say your quip is more appropriately aimed at Mr Lambert :)

Yeh, Clarke was guilty of a few. Doesn't especially help our common cause yelling bellend at the lad though does it.
