I'll hazard a guess and suggest it costs less to look odd rather than having displays that the cameras/TV audience don't see

I’m just surprised they haven’t covered the Cobbold stand executive boxes roof with huge LED ad boards, camera is always facing that and could be great extra revenue from bigger companies possibly |  | | |

Probably just took them off to paint everything pitchside in the new dark grey, I'm sure they will be replaced. They have them higher up in that stand, so bound to return. |  |

Much as Rosie was a really nice person and had a tough gig with no investment, the commercial activities have been terrible at Ipswich for some time. Pre-Sheeran I enquired about sponsoring the front of the shirt and sleeves and no one got back to my calls....also post-Ed enquired about taking over the stand sponsorship for one of the stands and despite numerous attempts, including via Mark Ashton, heard nothing back. This is for a global brand that already works with a number of teams in the premier league. So really not surprised they're making big changes.
They've only just hired a new commercial director, a few people have left, and very few sales activities have happened over the summer hence why no sleeve sponsor. They're aiming to add new commercial partners over the next few months which will include more pitchside and other areas...they're soo behind other teams, including Norwich, but have a big opportunity to dramatically change their revenues, especially with Sheeran's involvement. |  | | |

I think that could well be the case. There were a few bits and pieces around the ground last night that didn't seem 100% finished - almost as if they were working to complete things at the end of this week, and hoping that the club didn't get a home cup tie. | |

it has been painted blak and is just awaiting the season sponsor boards to be applied I believe. As it does not face the cameras it is not revenue earning beyond local businesss |  |

Not a chance that's the stands last season.
That space will be saved for a one company huge advert that will be able to command an enormous ad revenue fee on short term deals. Always visible, big companies will pay top dollar for it.
Especially if the papers get signed on the 2024 concerts, prime space for a particular artist to further invest | | | |
