Ready in 5 if you put them in a proper fryer.

I don't have to do anything other than put them in the fryer. It may take longer to cook them, but it takes less time for me as no prep. Not sure why this is difficult to grasp, haha!

I mean, what is wrong with you people? I'm also not keen on skin on chips. |
Bah, you've not lived until you've stuck your spud in a chipper

Has an oven chip on 21:39 - Aug 3 by Lord_Lucan | Not much impresses me but they are brilliant. I went for the double draw Ninja and I can't recommend them highly enough, they cook quicker, they are easy to use and food tastes better for some reason. You can perfectly cook an XL chicken in 50 mins. Plus, you can sync the two draws so you load the feckers up, sync the draws and when it dings everything is ready at the same time. Since buying it a few months ago I have hardly ever used my oven and my gas bill was only £35 last month. I know we haven't got the heating on now but it's usually about £200 I think. |
Likewise, I haven't used my Oven since last year. So much easier, a roast chook in the Ninja is a taste sensation.

In my opinion the only sort of people who eat oven chips are lazy bastards and communists.

Has an oven chip on 08:36 - Aug 4 by mrfixit426 | Time innit. Working full time and sorting the kids out at dinner, I need to streamline the process as much as I can. Hmmm, that makes it sounds like they have chips every day. Once a week or fortnight before I get reported to social services........ |
That was very much where I was at yesterday. Up at 05:45 and barely stopped until 8pm, hence the need for something supposedly quick. I did at least rustle up a quick salad to go with my chips and fried up a seabass. I much prefer homemade chips, I normally par boil them for a bit with their skins on then throw them into a hot oven / oil. Salt and pepper to season. I'll make something more wholesome tonight, especially as I'm off to Newcastle tomorrow for a day / night on the beers ahead of the game Sunday.

Has an oven chip on 23:21 - Aug 3 by mrfixit426 | Was looking at getting one for a while. The wife wasn't convinced so I went ahead and bought it myself. I use it at least four or five times a week. It's particularly useful for doing the kids' meals after school as I'm working from home now. Oven chips are great - a bit of oil and a sprinkle of salt, shake them up a few times and they come out perfect after about 18 mins! I've even branched out and made cajun fries and other variants. It's the best piece of kit I've bought for many years. |
Yep the air fryer is a superb bit of kit and yes LL the oven is redundant now pretty much, but try the oven chips without spraying with oil, they already come with a very very slight covering so you don't need to add more..

Wait till you discover the Ninja Creami... Basically a Pacojet knock off for 150 (on offer) to 200 quid. Pacojets cost approx £4000. Dump a can of peaches in juice in the tub. Freeze for 24 hours. Into the Creami for 2 and a half minutes: sorbet with the texture of incredibly good ice cream. Watermelon sorbet is fantastic, too. Do it, Mumsnet TWTD branch members!

Interesting, I've always had a yearning to create spicy savoury Ice Cream. I might buy one of these for Lady Lucans birthday. Two birds and all that.

I was thinking similar, and then saw this below it, I mean does the world really need this? Is there any chance it even occasionally peels a spud fully and properly? https://www.amazon.co.uk/NEEZ-Pineapple-Remover-Kitchen-Stainless/dp/B07Z3Y4VZV/

This. The air fryer has now ousted the oven for chips, but just sometimes I dig the old deep fat fryer out. Smelly, messy, violent, but delivers a lovely old school chip.

More to the point. What makes Keno’s belly button fluff so superior to other people’s. Bloke is being a bit full of himself if you ask me.
