Why is July so cloudy compared to June and August? The last few July's have been incredibly cloudy while the June's and August's have been quite decent

Even in summer overcast weather is off puting

August hasn't happened yet.
If you're referring to August 2022 then I'm afraid the TWTD massive is only good for footy memories not what the weather was like. However they do know the weather for every game in 2022/23 (Who could forget the fog at Oxford).
Season 2022/23 started on July 30th but how many football days were there in August?

There has definitely been a change over the last fifty five years:

It’s like autumn on this side of the country. Just a series of fronts coming through with strong winds, plenty of rain and the odd thunderstorm. If anyone else tells me “the gardens needed some rain”, I’ll punch them.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

The cloudy nights certainly aren't helpful when it comes to astrophotography.

This week is looking rather rubbish as well.

I'm not enjoying the weather coming up the Bristol Channel either and I'm not sure that the ducks would rate this weather as great too.

I do question if East Anglia really is one of the sunniest place in the country (Apparently it is)

If this is one of the sunniest place than I'm concerned what the least sunniest places are like.

I do remember a time where everywhere else in the country had sunshine except us.

In January 1983, Cape Wrath in Scotland recorded a mere 36 minutes of sunshine in the entire month.

I don't really want to know about the weather coming up your Bristol Channel, thank you very much.

I certainly noticed a big difference moving over here. Cooler summers, warmer winters and wetter all year round. But spare a thought for Glassers - just as wet but in the winter it gets dark at 3 pm

Bristol has an advantage of being close the the south west peninsula so that maybe why. Although Bristol is colder

The time that the Earth moves so that the Sun is no longer shining on a part of it doesn't have anything to do with climate, it is due to the Earth's axial tilt (23.44°.)

Half past ten in the evening and still light here on the Isle of Skye.

“Cape Wrath:36 minutes of sunshine” sounds like a Scot-noir Netflix limited series that i would watch.
