Who were the Hateful 8? 12:32 - Jun 12 with 1696 views | You_Bloo_Right | "The House of Lords Appointments Commission (HOLAC) has confirmed it rejected eight of the former prime minister's nominations." Nads obviously, and Johnson Snr. Presumably Adams. What about the others? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-65876723

It seems a pretty low bar for approval when you consider that Charlotte Owens, 29, special advisor to BJ and who seems to have done nothing of particular significance has been approved. There seems to be some speculation that she is his one of his many and scattered children. No idea if that is true or not.

Yet they approved Charlotte Owens as a lifetime peer. She graduated in 2015, went straight to working for the party and has no other work experience. And that gets you a lifetime peerage at £322 a day... https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/boris-johnsons-honours-list-is-a-loyalty-tes [Post edited 12 Jun 2023 13:31]

Yes, I saw that rumour that she may be one of his kids. I wouldn't at all be surprised. The timing would fit an affair shortly before he broke up with his first wife and he's got form. It would explain it. But then so would either an affair with her or her knowing where the bodies are buried. Who knows. The only thing we do know is that it's pretty much unearned, so is likely to be something dodgy.

Whilst I do love bashing Boris, these have always been controversial and dodgy. It feels like a system that is just far too easy to game. Should be done away with.

Agree. She now has power to literally change laws of the land based on what exactly? As you say, too easy to game the system and to be clear all parties do it. Just not quite as ridiculously as this. I'd imagine her nomination form will leak at some point.

I did manage to miss her and it certainly seems bloody odd. I thought Houchen was fairly shameful as well given how dodgy the stuff that he's been up to seems to be. Had a quick look into the allegation it might be his daughter and people are saying she's the daughter of his first wife, and the ages would overlap. Although hard to find anything other than Twitter chat given how little info there is on her.

I don’t buy the daughter line, but he has history of this type of thing and all with blonde women. Jennifer Acuri His current wife who he tried to position in a role And then there is the more sinister side

With regards to awards I can understand Mad Nad was upset, she had been told that Boris was going to give her one but Rishi stopped him
