Coupled with the incident in the Bordeaux game it seems football in many countries is regressing in terms of fan violence.

There have been a number of violent incidents at almost all clubs in Ligue 1 and Ligue 2, since the return of spectators after covid.

A lot of times there have been pitch invasions and a real threat to match officials and players.

At the moment French football is out there on it's own - it's been brewing like that for the last 5 years, and has only really escalated to this post-Covid. I used to go to a lot of games in France, but no longer. German football is much more fan-friendly.

A lot of global politics has raised the emotional temperature in most people over the last decade and society has seen influential leaders get away with being selfish arseholes, so this gets reflected in public.

I think Euro 24 could be an absolute nightmare the way things are going at stadiums at present.
