I hope that new Cobbold Stand is going to be massive! 09:15 - Apr 28 with 2923 viewsThatMuhrenCross

Keep going the way things are and 29,000 is just not big enough. When successful, this club would have no trouble filling 40-45,000.

Poll: Ipswich offer you 10k a week, Norwich offer you 20k. Who do you join?

First time, we were relying on European income to fund it.
Second time we were relying on Premier League cash and then ITV digital to fund it.

Both times, loans were secured based on that income. Not the case with any development now.

Different set of circumstances.

It won't happen overnight, but the ownership group have big aspirations to build the club and infrastructure lightyears beyond what we've seen historically in terms of our support and facilities, they'll do it in a sustainable and diverse way, beyond football.

The difference now is that we have serious professionals running the show with access to capital markets -- Mark Detmer works for JLL one of the worlds leading real estate investment companies, his job is to buy assets and develop them sustainably and regenerate areas. ORG and the pension fund are able to deploy capital and potentially raise money in a way that Sheepy and the previous owner could not even dream of.

When they start redevelopment work it won't be financed in a way that will put the operational side of the business at risk, it will be based on revenues generated from the football, real estate and entertainment side of the developments. Whilst building for more capacity a big part of their plans will involve venues that can deliver 7-day revenues (think music venue, entertainment, other sports, education, community space), look at Spurs, what Leicester are about to build, the Aston Villa redevelopment just announced, MK Dons and their arena, and even Bristol City.

The owner of the Staples building sold to the club because of what they're planning to build and the traffic it will generate for his Travelodge site.

The potential from the catchment area is massive, the region is one of the fastest-growing population centres and we have little competition, Suffolk alone has a population of 730k, and we're 'only' an hour from London... that's partly why they were attracted to the investment, along with the heritage.

People will be nicely surprised when they start announcing their plans.

But first things first, let's get promoted.

I wonder if they’ll include Snoasis and a tube stop.
