Fascinating discussion on this on R5 live earlier. Not that any of the pundits had anything insightful to say (some journo from The Athletic was the best of the bunch), but because the parallels with us are uncanny. Chris Sutton was very much in the Marcus Evans camp - they were right to go for Mourinho and Conte because they’re winners and have done it before. I was getting flashbacks and cold sweats. The Athletic bloke seemed far more sensible and recognised they needed a strategy first so that everything could be aligned and working together.

Was reading an article in the Athletic the other day. He’s apparently doing a good job at Roma.

Levy and the owners are part of the problem, but let’s not forget there’s players at the club that have been a constant too over the last 5-6 years and yet they still remain and even get offered contact extensions! They do look in a mess, but I’m sure there will be plenty of suitors ready to take over the managerial reigns. | |
