As others have said, ME put way too much on O’Neil, so reverting to his original role may be a good thing for everybody.

My other point is, with all of the recruits being a Chairman (non exec), a CEO, a COO, just what would LON do and add value with?

The Youth stuff he was involved with before, community stuff which people say he's good at. Several opportunities to get a decent, meaty role which would benefit the club.

If there is a role for him and he’s up for it, I can’t see why he shouldn’t stay. Same with anyone else at the club, including KD. Given the player turnaround, it’d be nice to have some continuity in the football club itself. The key is the new club structure, how it’s going to operate and whether people embrace that. If they don't or there isn’t a job for them, then it’s farewell time.

If he is the ‘source’ for any stories in the press, it will be because the club wanted them in the press at that time.

Completely invent things about people you've never met? Apparently it's the done thing for people who have no clue. Nor class for that matter.

See I saw something different in what was said today, specifically this quote which seemed to be a positive. "Because, by the way, FA Youth Cup semi-final is an incredible achievement. Lee O'Neill and his staff should be given huge credit for that, and it's something we should be proud of. "We've got to invest sensibly in all areas to take the club forward."

Lee O'Neill on 06:52 - Jun 2 with 2019 views | wkj | I hope he is being retained for the job he was originally drafted in for, Community Outreach. People either do not know, or chose to ignore that Lee O'Neill is INCREDIBLY good at this. It isn't his fault that Marcus promoted him to be his own personal flak vest. I hope people calm down on being so eager to bin LON off. as he is exactly what we need at the club right now, someone who knows the community and what it is like to be a town fan.

Agree with this. It is clear from Ashton’s interview that this community element is very important to the owners so people that are willing and able to do this stuff are going to be needed. If LON is up for coordinating/doing this stuff and is as you say good at it, why not? I am so used to the club shrinking it feels strange to think of them employing people and building something - ‘building’ was also a strongly used word yesterday. It’s all good.
