I think we should be cautious as we heard this all before post Mick and when we dropped under Lambert. This rebuild will not be an easy job. Recruiting new players who are good enough to win this league is essential, they can't be here just to make up numbers before moving on.
Cook needs a lot of time and patience to get it right. I think if people are expecting HMS Piss the league again next season it's going to feel flat. This is a miserable, hard, league and teams aren't going to roll over for us or lets us play pretty football just because we're Ipswich Town.

That's why Cook needs time. If we're angry the anger has to be aimed at the owner. We saw this season that by making a noise and highlighting his failures to the wider world he does indeed act, it was months too late as ever but he did start worrying once the protests started and Lambert went on the radio to basically blame him. It's gone quiet again for now, but if we end up finishing 11th this season and Cook isn't backed in the window we need to react angrily to that. | |

Quite. PC turned down Shef Wed & Cardiff. He is a manager in demand and Evans managed to secure his services. I don't think PC would have taken the job if he couldn't see at least some potential in either the players or the set up at the club in general. I am looking forward to next season, and I did say Cook has been given a free pass, however - it is important for him to get the team to show improvement for the remainder of the season, even if we miss promotion and the playoffs. |  |
