I never said you were. I was grouping you together. The anti masker on here was saying they don't stop you getting the virus which isn't actually the main point of them.

None of you seem to understand the reasoning behind these things and end up looking stupid because of it.

In your opinion , it doesn’t make you right.

It kind of does when they've literally said it's about delaying and not overwhelming the NHS. Giving time to adjust, prepare, fix test and trace, ramp up quicker testing etc etc as well as getting us nearer the spring and buying time for a possible vaccine/new treatments. Endless studies are being done where buying them some time might unlock some answers and make everything much better. It is quite literally about delaying.

Truly impaired.

Go on with your lives safely , keep your distance. This won’t get rid of the virus , just delays it.

blimey , you know the answer to the lock down is to delay the virus but don't know why we should delay it. so you ok in over running the n.h.s in what is the busiest time of year.

Tell that to the dead people I watched be loaded by forklift into the two articulated lorry morgues that were parked on my street for months on end earlier this year.

They predicted in March 500,000 would die, it never happened. So I do have a sceptical image of the predictions that they coming out with now. I don’t support trump, I am not an anti vaxer, and wear a mask. Sometimes for 12 hours a time when on an aircraft. A lot of people who passed away in first wave were chronically ill and would not have survived. It was the virus that killed them but their conditions. But the scientist felt fit to put their deaths down to Covid and claim 44000 died of it.

How do you explain the excess death number then? Did we suddenly just accumulate an extra 50k people with fatal "chronic illness" than would be expected normally?

The figures in England don’t stack up, infection rate is 1 in 100 in south east. It’s my opinion , and I stick with it. You might disagree , but that’s your right.

How does that mean they don't stack up?

Your guesstimate equates to 100 per 100,000 which is what is being said. So if you take your own number and scale it up across the country that's 68000 cases. Now we know that other areas, especially in the north can be 5 times or more higher than your guesstimate so you can probably push that up to 350,000 cases whilst being very conservative given this is only confirmed and tested cases.

Opinions are meaningless if they are disprovable by evidence. This is the problem with many today, they seem to think their opinion carries equal weight even if it's demonstrably incorrect.

So I repeat, how do you feel the numbers don't stack up?

No they are all predictions not stats that’s why. R rate is 0.5 not that of major city’s anywhere in U.K.

This post is terrible.

Not only is it wrong about the 500,000 so-called 'prediction', but also ignores the point that many people live for years with underlying health conditions.

To dismiss human life as 'they would have died anyway' is pretty damn low if I may say so.

The one in March wasn't a lockdown either, just slightly more restrictive.

No we can't complain we've experienced a proper lockdown can we.

Being able to pop to the local shop for a bottle of wine to go with your steak and chips isn't what I'd consider to be a lockdown.

No they didn't, you are lying.

When you spout a provable lie your opinion isn't worth anything no matter how much you think it is. You should also expect to get called out on that lie.

Now stop lying.

Many people in Suffolk seem to have no appreciation of how serious this can get..

No, not when they are supported by alternative facts.
