Charlton going the way of Bury! on 07:17 - Mar 10 with 3960 views | itfcjoe | It’s a serious point though, there aren’t great owners sitting out there looking for a club Evans getting his sh*t together should very much be Plan A, and if he does sell doing it from a position of strength when any chancers can be flushed out

Charlton going the way of Bury! on 07:41 - Mar 10 with 3843 views | Bluefish | There couldn't be a more relevant comparison but you are right it is best to ignore it because you don't like it. Not only would any owner willing to take this of Evans be a loon but our fans want Evans to give it to them for £0 so they won't even have an outlay to be bothered about losing. They put in an offer for Toney in January I dont understand how they cam now be like this?

No, a BNP stronghold near the Cambs/Suff border. Colchester & this one to look forward to next season then.

I’m not ignoring it. It’s a joke. Evans is not a malicious owner. He’s just not very good at being a football owner. But he does at least provide funds and have good intentions at heart you’d imagine. There are plenty of worse owners but plenty of better ones. Just like managers. Evans needs to go most likely but it’s very possible we end up with someone even worse. We are a similar club to Charlton. We’ve just swapped places. We could have ended up with this guy or we could have ended up with the guy who took Sheffield United on when they were a similar place to us now. It’s an absolute lottery.

Sorry what part of the person who is funding the club has decided to stop funding the club don’t you understand?

Right. And obviously gambling with a manger is rather different to gambling with an owner though isn’t it.

Sheffield United owner didn't get them promoted, people look at them with such revisionist history They appointed a good manager and went up, that's it. There success is purely on Wilder

They’d just gone up from League One. Could have been us next year possibly. I appreciate that Wilder was the driving force but McCabe played his part and seems that the other guy with the longest name in the world has also done a great job there. Despite being at each other’s throats they still seemed to be united enough to sanction a number of really good moves that have ultimately got them where they are.

Again revisionist - their best signing was McGoldrick and he had to spend a couple of weeks on trial before they pulled the trigger on a free transfer! They've supported Wilder, but he is the main man - in the same way that had Mick got us up in 14/15 it would have all been on him in reality, bar praise for the owner for staying out of his way and supporting him as much as they could afford to (not very much)

The owners have supported Wilder this season to ensure they were competitive in the PL. Last season their strikers had an average age of 30+ or something, they needed to sign strikers and the owners provided them with the funds to bring in players they knew would be competitive in the PL. But you are correct, about 95% of their success is down to Wilder. He came in, united the club and got them playing a system and stuck with it. They haven't had a bad season since he took charge.

Their owners are fine, and I'm not saying they are bad - just that like you say the credit for this is basically down to Wilder and him alone.

Henderson was a very good loan signing for them, he looked decent at our place last season. Sheffield United's squad had a good blend with some real quality and experience throughout it. Wilder has built on the team season on season to the point where they looked a very strong unit, disciplined, organised and they played good football too prior to their promotion to the Premier League and they've carried that philosophy into this campaign. I agree, Wilder did do a lot of the leg work, but he would've been supported by the club's owners to help achieve that success. [Post edited 10 Mar 2020 12:18]

No, and wher did he come form? Northampton wasnt it? Proof that there are quality managers out there that we can find.
