The govt claims that workers rights will be in other legislation presented to the HOC. Dropping the Dubs amendment to protect child refugees is just plain nasty and vindictive. [Post edited 20 Dec 2019 8:10]

Government tears up Dubs amendment on 07:50 - Dec 20 with 2055 views | brogansnose | I don't know why I'm surprised by this but its a dreadful inhuman thing to do. Do they really want to be seen as a party that wouldn't have allowed the Kindertransport ? Its children we're talking about here, kids.
Government tears up Dubs amendment on 08:08 - Dec 20 with 2010 views | homer_123 | Remain couldn't get it's act together before the Referendum - it couldn't get it's act together to deal with Brexit and then they couldn't get together to stop the Conservatives in the GE. And look what happens - this is hardly surprising is it.

VT is downvoting anything I post. I could post that SBR was three greatest manager in our history and he’d down vote it. I don’t think he likes the cut of my jib fixers. [Post edited 20 Dec 2019 9:26]

It's not surprising at all. And everybody who voted for a conservative MP is responsible.

So instead of blaming the government, you're blaming the remain campaign? Interesting.

No, not what I am saying. Clearly the current Gov have made this decision but.....because Remain, the opposition etc. made such an epic clusterf*ck over the course of the last 3 years, we've ended up in the situation. For example, the bill could have gone through before the GE with current concessions in but....guess what....it didn't becuase - it was opposed. This is what we are now left with, no point moaning about it now.

Good morning. Still waiting to hear how leaving the EU is going to be brilliant for our economic prospects. You answer less questions than Boris - that's quite some achievement. SB

Government tears up Dubs amendment on 09:46 - Dec 20 with 1808 views | Pinewoodblue | The electorate has given Boris a mandate to do things his way. We have to get used to it and prepare for the next opportunity to change the Government which I assume will be sometime in the next four years. I say four as if you rescind the fixed term act you go back to what was there before and pretty sure that was four, rather than five, year parliaments. May 2023 would be my guess . Time to start getting ready. [Post edited 20 Dec 2019 9:47]

"We do need to look after people who are truly in need." You'd think so. But this is something polticians say and we want to believe - then nothing happens. The evidence is all around that the UK doesn't actually work on that basis.

Thanks for your interest, Fixed it. That’s right, I don’t like refugees children. The adults are fine, it’s the kids I can’t stomach.

It's very sad and annoys me. Maybe we could start the 'I meant it when I said it' party. Centrist but honest and compassionate.

Good morning, Sir. I wish you a very Merry Christmas. We will make trade deals without the constraints of being tied to weaker economies. The future is bright.
