I read the article, including the bit where the union said they'd given exemptions for cancer (and some other) services - I find using something as emotive as cancer especially low - and that many of the appointments were cancelled before the strike action was announced. A Debt-to-GDP ratio is never considered a bankrupt state, especially when a massive chunk of it is actually owed to Bank Of England i.e. itself.
You only have to look at superpower industrial and tech countries, Japan is a fine example, where their DtoGDP is massively overwhelming compared to UK. |  |
