Saw an amazing game involving Maldon & Tiptree at the tail end of the 16/17 season.
They were away to Soham Town Rangers who hadn’t won in 14 or 15 games and needed 3 points to avoid relegation.
Soham were losing 2-3 as 90mins loomed and then it was 3-3 and then a very late 4-3 winner. The last 2 goals being a brace by the local PE teacher sending the schoolkids loco and thus claiming a legendary status in the town. He’s now the joint assistant manager alongside Erkan Okay (remember him?). |  |

What I am loving about this game, is Maldon are absolutely treating this tie as any other game. They are defending quite deep, but they certainly aren't cowering in their own half and trying to actually play the ball forward rather than launching a load of ICBMs into the box. I honestly wouldn't be able to tell the gap in league position if I was oblivious to the teams. [Post edited 29 Nov 2019 21:35]
