So the Labour Party conference has started and there’s absolutely no sign of antisemitism on day one. None at all.

It’s always the wrong kind of Jews with you isn’t it? Always throwing in the loyal to Israel trope for good measure. But that it’s antisemitic. No sir. Just legitimate criticism of Israel. Of course it is.

That's a particularly scummy misreading of what I said.

Is that the same "wrong kind of Jew" Alexi Sayle was the other day?

I bet Bloots will downarrow this.

I think you are mistaking me for somebody else you followed around that thread.

I note you like to chip away at various posters when this subject is raised but rarely discuss the detail or give your own opinion. You’re not usually backwards in coming forwards when it’s right wing racism.

Why do you think it's ugly?

If they're criticising Khan for meeting Jews then that's clearly antisemitic. If they're criticising Khan for going to a meeting of a group that is hardcore pro-Israel and Zionist by its own admission, and has had a dubious part to play in amplifying and distorting antisemitism within Labour, then that's clearly not antisemitic.

The JLM are not above criticism because they aren't "the Jewish people in Labour" as much as they like to pretend they are. There are many Jews in Labour who would criticize Khan for meeting them as well.

Mainly because of the 'these Israeli Zionists' bit. I thought they're british jews?

I can see you have it in for the JLM, which is a shame - is every member a wrongun by you then? .

I like Friedman's last tweet:
"What I saw was the leader of our capital city and a proud Muslim stand with his Jewish “brothers and sisters” against those who would exclude Jews. It was both depressing and heartening. We Jews know we have enemies - but we also have friends (ends)"

heartening.

Oh we're back to insinuating that I'm a racist again. How tiresome. Never mind the Glasgow Swerve, its disappointing cousin is in town, the Glasgow Smear.

See, this is why nobody takes you seriously. You're a hack, and whatever decent point you may occasionally, accidentally stumble across gets lost and utterly ruined by you because, well, your particular brand of politics is of the extremely seedy, gutter kind.

How's about that for an opinion on a right winger eh? No need to reply, I won't bother acknowledging you from this point onwards.

No. We are back to you chipping away at posters in this subject but never actually giving an option on the racism whereas you are very quick to jump in right wing racism. I dint think for one minute you are a racist and never suggested that you were/are.

That's a bad faith reading, ullaa. I said pro-Israeli not Israeli and anyway pro-Israeli is pretty redundant given their hardcore Zionism.

Have a read for yourself in their own words:
https://www.jewishlabour.uk/what_is_the_jewish_labour_movement

If you think they're just representing Jews in Labour and not instrumental in this fight (often against other Jews I might add) then you'll obviously not understand why people could be legitimately critical.

Lowhouse certainly did. A couple of others did too.

Whilst you certainly did say he's perfectly entitled to his views... you also dismissed them by saying "they are not views or experiences shared by the majority of British Jews."

I bet if Sayle had been slating Corbyn you'd have been all over it like a cheap suit, and in fact would've been first to post it. As it was praising Corbyn, you only appeared towards the end of page 3... swiftly adding more from your antisemitism file.

I bet Bloots will downarrow this.

I'm not talking about what you said fella - you asked me why the convo was ugly - I explained why those bods using 'these Israeli Zionists' was ugly in my book.

Surprised you missed that distinction - if you hadn't, you might understand why GB and me found it off. Friedman was careful to surround those words in quotes too.

So no bad faith reading.

So by the sounds of it you just don't like Zionists - i make no comment on that, but is this all of them or just the current right-wing version?

I said he was a 1970s commie and his support for corbyn was therefore predictable. I didn't say his race had anything to do with his support or otherwise for Corbyn. so link or edit.

No, I'm very sceptical of Zionism in 2019 as it is undeniably fuelling the oppression and occupation of the Palestinians. But then again I'm not a fan of any belief when it slips into ethno-religious nationalism and fundamentalism.

Otherwise, sorry for the confusion and thinking it was a bad faith reading. I understand now that you were reading the Twitter thread.

Yes, it was definitely incorrect for these men to call the JLM "Israeli Zionists" - not antisemitic though. Perhaps they were just confused by the JLM's main "object" as they call it: "To maintain and promote Labour or Socialist Zionism as the movement for self-determination of the Jewish people within the state of Israel." Which is "Israeli" because that's really just the point of Zionism not that they themselves are Israeli.

Of course, I also don't think the JLM are innocent and just defending against antisemitism. I think their leaders have been more smeary and politically motivated than almost anyone else. As you know, I've got the evidence if you want to discuss that.

Ageing comic Jews shouldn't be considered (in your eyes), so in that respect he's the wrong kind of Jew.

You don't need to actually say the words "wrong kid of Jew" to dismiss someone's views.

I am Jewish and I have a couple of Labour supporting friends who are fine with me and what I read and hear about anti Semitism in the Labour Party is not a reflection of the Labour Party or its policy, it seems more like a slur or an attempt to slander by right wing fanatics (some of which are on this forum).
Remember Boris is a traitor and the Tory Party are finished hahahahaha!
