Are we in 3rd gear... or actually top gear? 17:35 - Sep 21 with 3907 viewsgroovyASH

Obviously brilliant to be top, undefeated, best defence, best goal difference. We are playing the most competent and consistent in league 1.

However, we have never really dominated a game or side (aside Bolton). The common consensus is we are just cruising in a low gear and we will end up dominating with beautiful performances and 4-0 wins.

However, are we actually playing to the best of our ability? Its fine for league 1 you do not need to play amazing football to get out of this league. The gap between league 1 and the championship is wider than we probably give credit to given the comparison we can give after 9 games vs 16 seasons.

Do we actually need to play at full steam? If we're winning games playing at 70 or 80 percent, is there any point in pushing for that extra few percent of performance?

If you run a car engine at full throttle all the time, there is a massively increased chance something will break.

Three points from a win is worth far more than a boost to goal difference. Ours is already massively higher than anyone else's (bar Peterborough) anyway.

Possibly it's more important to keep something in reserve for when we play the really dangerous teams.

i think defensively we are there, perhaps need LB sorted if we play a 4, Garbutt is ok going forward but not ideal defending from what I saw at MK He maybe improve with more games?

Midfield, we have an embarrassment of riches and with seemingly Skuse and Downes a shoe in, it a question who plays where, we have plenty of options, wide and central

Up front is the area where it, in my view, is not quite working that's 3 games now without a goal from a striker yet we have 3 strikers, plus Judge who can play as a 10. If we get that right then the goals will start again

Look at the bench today and we still have Sears, Toto, Bishop to return then the likes of Dobra, Falomi as well
