Moon last night 15:14 - Jul 17 with 824 viewsTJS

I swear the moon appeared as an orange crescent above the horizon at about 10pm last night but later it looked pretty much fully round and yellow.
Can anyone explain this ? it is bugging me.

There is no moon.

What you saw was the CIA projector on the fritz - I'd keep it quiet.

Can't explain it but my wife took a couple of photos of it a few minutes after 10pm.

It was certainly different.

What you saw was a lunar eclipse.
Lucky you.

It was a partial lunar eclipse.

I took a photo using the telescope but it was so low on the horizon it didn't come out brilliantly.

My wife told me to look at the moon last night, but I couldn't be arsed to get up and walk to the window so I missed it.
