If I recall correctly we were the first team to take advantage of having a subsitute keeper to replace a sent off keeper.
I believe it was Craig Forrest sent off against Sheffiled United but I cannot recall which keeper came on as the sub or who was the outfield player who made way.
There was a bit of a song and dance about it in the media at the time.

He wasn’t a good left back as he was really a left sided midfield player. But granted not top quality like a lot of other Duncan additions, and played out of position.
Thinking about it there are similarities between Duncan and Hurst in terms of downgrading the quality of the playing staff, albeit from a higher start point. | |
