TWTD Ipswich Foodies 19:47 - Oct 3 with 1696 views | BaltachaFanClub | Hi everyone, On a different subject to last night, I need a few suggestions for food in town. Friday I have tickets to a show in town, and need to treat my rather remarkably unfussy missus to dinner first, I need somewhere reasonably near to the regent, which isn’t too pricey and serves around 5:30/6 as we have to be at the regent for 7pm (apparently) It’s been a while since I have needed such help, I know the cricketers is close but I would prefer a notch up from whetherspoons menu on this occasion.

We’ve been to Rios a couple of times, adore it. But like you say, time allowed is preventing it. Thanks though, you’ve reminded me to book it again for my birthday 😠

I haven't been to Takayama and it may be brilliant but I would be nervous of anywhere Jake goes. He eats sh1te.

TWTD Ipswich Foodies on 21:11 - Oct 3 with 1566 views | itfcjoe | Mizu - always good quality and always a quick turnaround. Like a quality wagamamas. I always go there pre show, as you know the food will be quick, fresh and bloody lovely - and that you won't be checking watch panicking that you need to hoover food down before rushing off

Someone told me it was closed? Will look, currently our “list” is takayama, Chennai dosa and Papa Panda I don’t think she understood what I meant by relatively cheap

It was open last Thursday. I’d go to Mizu personally, it really is superb.

Jake - I know you like your food. And I like winding you up. Re the thread - have to say Mizu is another under sung jewel in the crown.

I haven’t been, but on the basis that Papa Panda is what Temptation used to be I’d avoid like the plague A far better Chinese buffet option next door to the Regent if that’s what you’re after I’ll third Takayama, and also throw LTB into the mix if burgers are your thing, again no problems with time there although depends exactly what you’re looking for, it’s not really a restaurant [Post edited 3 Oct 2018 23:51]
