As many of you will have read, Tom Adeyemi is the latest player to have been called out publicly by Paul Hurst. In this instance, our new boss questions Adeyemi’s willingness to train and compares him unfavorably to another member of the squad who is dealing with similar injury issues.
I don’t know whether any of you remember this but we had a manager some odd years ago who specialised in publicly airing grievances with players and taking potshots at the set-up of his predecessors. That bloke’s name was Roy Keane.
I am not suggesting that there are any similarities between the two in terms of tactics, attention to detail, training methods, whatever. It is too early to tell. What needs to be said, however, is that Keane lost the dressing room due in a large part to burying his players in public. How would you feel if your boss behaved in this manner towards you? I really think Paul Hurst needs to be careful with this stuff. |  |

It's a fair point.
A lot to be excited about going forwards, as one would expect with a new man in charge.
Dozzell back, maybe Bishop too - and Edwards and Harrison are players I'm keen to see.
And yet this situation with Adeyemi sits a little uncomfortably with me.

Hurst actually sits somewhere between Keane and McCarthy. Honest and open like McCarthy but more down the route of Keane in setting standards he expects and being prepared to publicly single out players. I thi k he is nore approachable and harsh but fair then Keane though. | |

Hurst is under pressure to perform with an inadequate squad and its probably made more infuriating to see talented lads perhaps not pulling their weight or not committing to the cause. I think he's said what he's said to be a motivator, no one wants to be that player in the spotlight having their job performance questioned. Adeyemi will either accept it and crack on or continue to under perform and will realise he needs to find himself another club...who would take him with his injury record though is limited so just maybe he'll choose the latter option. |  |
