There was only going to be one winner in this section with Freddie Sears's goal at Aston Villa having everything - a great team build-up of the type which will hopefully become familiar in the season ahead followed by the ball being lashed into the top corner.

Andre Dozzell's final-day goal was similarly well-worked and was finished clinically, while Gwion Edwards's deflected strike against Norwich all too briefly promised derby glory for the first time in a decade.

Jack Lankester's goal against Millwall, in another game which ultimately ended in disappointment, was hopefully the first of many to come.
