TWTD Questionnaire 2018/19

Q11 Worst match of the season?

Rather too many games in contention in this category but little surprise the 3-0 defeat at Norwich topped the poll, even if the performance probably didn't deserve the three-goal margin.

The Preston loss was the one real hammering during the season and it came the week after relegation had been confirmed and owed much the shock of what had become inevitable finally being confirmed.

The FA Cup exit at Accrington Stanley was unfortunately all too predictable with the approach to the game little different to previous seasons.

It's perhaps surprising that the 2-1 loss to Reading at Portman Road got only 74 votes. Relegation seemed all but confirmed after losing that particular must-win home game.

The correct answer is the 0-0 draw with Bolton in September, one chance created against ten men and a clear indication of just how much trouble we were in and how out of his depth Hurst was.

I think it was the loss to Millwall that signalled to me that escape was unlikely.
