Accrington Stanley 2-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 15:25:24

Embarrassingly poor performance from ITFC on TV yet again. With the players we had unavailable today I did feel we didn’t have the personnel to play the 3-4-1-2 formation effectively and so it proved. Edwards is not a wingback & Judge is not a striker so both struggled. Nsiala & Dozzell both came in from the cold & didn’t do their chances any good with the former having a mare. Things could have been different it the 2 off the line had gone in or in the case of the second one been seen as it was a goal! But we just didn’t do enough to not lose & to be honest let themselves down today. How the players react to this Wednesday will be important as it’s important to return to winning ways

Fleetwood Town 0-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report

Massive result for us & with other results going our way the table makes lovely reading for all Ipswich Town fans. Yes it’s in a lower league but it’s enjoyable right now & after years of false dawns & not much else it’s great to see the team top & winning
I am actually looking forward to Tuesday night now just to see Steve Evans explode

Ipswich Town 4-1 Tranmere Rovers - Match Report
at 19:19:37

Excellent result & lovely to see. It is enjoyable going to matches again & long may that continue. I thought Tranmere adapted to the conditions better in the first half whilst we seemed a little tentative at times. Second half we were much better & are a real threat moving forward in games. If Norwood & Judge can find their shooting boots we will really dominate some of the lesser teams at this level. Jackson & the 2 wingbacks were excellent today

Perfect birthday present for my daughter todoas she hates MK Dons almost as much as Norwich! Just a shame that the “real” Dons let us down by letting in an injury time winner for Cov

Ipswich Town 0-0 Doncaster Rovers - Match Report

Very frustrating match but I think a point was all we deserved as we never really had any periods of real domination or pressure. Holy, Skuse, Chambers, Woolfenden & KVY played well but the rest weren’t really at the races. You cannot have that many players not at their best & expect to win matches so in some ways it actually feels like a point gained rather than 2 lost but we need to play better in next 2 games to pick up the points we want

Struggling to believe we have actually managed to win a cup match. Dobra was excellent & looks some talent. I hope Lambert realises Donacien & Edwards aren’t wingbacks

3 goals 3 points & top of the league. Not much to complain about & it’s great to see. Regarding today’s game it almost felt like an anticlimax after the first 20 minutes or so & it just felt we were playing well within ourselves and I personally would have liked to have seen us go for the jugular more but we won & that’s what matters, the strikers are scoring regularly the injuries are subsiding & players confidence is clearly high. Long may this continue

Bury Expelled From EFL as Bolton Have 14 Days to Complete Takeover
at 23:49:35

Feel so sorry for the staff & fans of Bury. Football needs to change & the long term security of clubs must be a priority. I just hope a phoenix club will rise from Bury’s ashes really soon to give those fans a team to support away from the evil greed which has led to this.
Bolton have 14 days to avoid going the same way but I fear the 92 clubs will soon be 90

Bolton Wanderers 0-5 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 19:13:06

Feel a very slight tinge of sadness for Bolton but most important thing for them is for their takeover to go through & the future of the club being secured. We had a job to do today and have done it in a professional manner hopefully without injuries & are top of the league to boot. Can’t complain about that!

Ipswich Town 2-1 AFC Wimbledon - Match Report
at 09:50:16

I spent most of the aftermath of the game apologising to my best friend who is a Wimbledon fan as that result was very tough on them. For first 60 minutes I thought we were poor with some players in particular being awful and you would have thought playing themselves out of the line up once every player is fit! The substitutes changed the game in our favour and we dominated towards the end. The nature of the result should be a massive boost to everyone at the club and hopefully we can build on this now.
Excellent attendance last night with nearly 19k there for an evening game against lower opponents and a brilliant atmosphere at the end. Now let’s kick on starting at Bolton

Keane Rejoins Town
at 15:55:02

Potentially an excellent signing at this level, exactly the type of striker we don’t have in the squad, knows the players & is happy to be here. The only negative is his injury record but if we can get 25-30 games out of him this season it could make a massive difference. Welcome back Keano

Peterborough United 2-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 21:00:58

The up & downs of football! A week ago we draw a game we should have won with Chambers at fault, then today we draw a game we should have lost with Chambers the hero!
Considering the bad run Posh have been in I was hopeful of 3 points but Posh are one of the better teams in this league so a point there shouldn’t be sniffed at whilst 5 points from 3 very hard opening matches is a reasonable start. The next few fixtures are on paper at least a lot easier so now is when we really need to push on

Town Reiterate Stance on Antisocial Behaviour After Racist Chants at Luton
at 13:11:18

I’m very disappointed to hear this as thought ITFC fans were not racist. Sounds like it was only a handful but still a handful too many. I hope they learn the errors of their ways very soon & we never hear chants like that again

Luton Town 3-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 22:15:16

I get that we didn’t want to risk injuries & that league is the most important but it still feels as though the club doesn’t take cup games seriously therefore never really being in right frame of mind for these games. A positive result at Peterborough then resting the players will prove the right decision but so many times in recent years we have had a poor result in the game the club has rested players for. Winning breeds confidence but I felt once I had seen the line up that winning was not feasible.
Hope the minutes on the pitch will help Judge & Huws return to their best

Ipswich Town 1-1 Sunderland - Match Report
at 01:05:13

Definitely 2 points dropped as we were totally dominant for first hour and should have been more than a goal up before Chambers horrendous error gifted them an equaliser
If we can stop making these terrible errors & make more of our opportunities to create chances we will be fine but I worry injuries and loss of form might cost us
Great atmosphere today in front of a bumper crowd and I hope a lot of the fans will be there again for the home matches ahead

Evans on Relegation, New Arrivals and the Promotion Challenge
at 13:23:25

I have read through the statement & fully understand what ME is doing & the reasons behind it but it does beg the question, if what he says is correct, then many other teams must be spending well beyond their budgets, therefore breaking the rules of FFP or whatever the league one version is known as, yet so far only QPR & Birmingham seems to have suffered sanctions. How do clubs with seemingly less income than us manage to spend so much more? If promotion is achieved how can we compete in Championship next season when likes of Reading, Wigan, Brentford etc are bidding millions for players? I can only conclude that ME is being too cautious with wages & spending whilst other clubs go to the max allowed & speculate to accumulate sensibly?
Whilst ME’s way might make business sense it makes football success unlikely
